Cobra KING SPEEDZONE Hybrids and Fairway Woods

This is exciting to hear. I have the 2H fly z from awhile ago. It has stayed in the bag. Can’t wait to go get fitted. I want to hit everything everyday!!

Thought this thread could use a little bump with Morgan Cup orders coming up

Hybrid lovers...what do you want out of your hybrid? I've never been a fan but thinking about giving it another try at the bag this year in the 2H spot maybe something to go in that 220-230 range but not sure about shaft. Previous hybrids I tried the Recoil 780 and while it felt good I always thought the flight was too high and spinny.

My MC Setup:

King Speedzone 5W 17* HZRDUS Yellow 60 6.0 Lamkin X Line Cord Connect Midsize

King Speedzone 7W 21* UST Helium 5 Lamkin X Line Cord Connect Midsize

No hybos for me ParaCap

I am definitely looking at a 2H or 3H for my bag. Will grab the Utility when it comes out and compare them.

Speedzone 3W with HZRDUS Yellow
Speedzone 3 & 4 Hybrids with Recoil 480 ESX

I am going to love these clubs. Big fan of the rails. (y)

Why hybos vs another option?
I am listening to my fitter. He feels they will fill gaps better than my current set up of 3W/5W and 3H which has a gap up to driver. I can't dispute what I saw when I was hitting these clubs. 3 wood was giving me great distance and direction, as was the Hybrid.

Honestly for me, I have had some sort of cobra hybrid in the bag for years. Right now I have the 2H fly z that has worked really well for me. It is something I am comfortable with compared to a fairway wood. I have never really played 3W very well, but I do not know how the 5W would translate instead of Hybrid. When I go for a fitting Friday I will look into both options.

I'm no help at all sir-- I tried both the OL and the VL hybrids and as my buddy @JDax said- Detroit Block City-- everything was going right of right.

I ordered a one length 4 hybrid with stock shaft. It should work well out on the course. If I don't like the stock recoil shaft I'm going to try a steel shaft.

I have been enjoying the 3H so much that I decided to pick up a KING SpeedZone Tour Fairway. Awesome looking club. Not sure I strike the ball consistently well enough to make it work, but I am sure going to give it a try this weekend. Shaft is a HZRDUZ Smoke Yellow, 75g stiff.

You and I are looking for the same bag fill. I had a fitting today focuses specifically in that 220-250 range to fill the gaps between the new Cobra driver and my T200 4i. After hitting a bunch of shafts and gauging distances, decided to go with a 3H in an Xstiff shaft which netted me 225 carry pretty consistently. That would give me about a 15-20 yrd gap between it and the 4i. Then I decided to get the 5w turned down a degree ( or so ) to get me a ~245 club.

Next up are these two little beauties....

5 wood set to 19.5 degrees, with a Tensei AV Blue 65 shaft in stiff

3 wood set to 16 degrees with a Tensei CK Orange 70 shaft in stiff which gave better launch than the blue.

Again, just gorgeous. 8188ED8C-EBDE-49B2-8424-93FAE89CFF31.jpegBE64ADC9-6813-4C91-8BAD-661A643CBF34.jpeg700A9FC9-FEE2-4993-873C-5D845E03847C.jpeg8188ED8C-EBDE-49B2-8424-93FAE89CFF31.jpegBE64ADC9-6813-4C91-8BAD-661A643CBF34.jpeg700A9FC9-FEE2-4993-873C-5D845E03847C.jpeg8188ED8C-EBDE-49B2-8424-93FAE89CFF31.jpegBE64ADC9-6813-4C91-8BAD-661A643CBF34.jpeg700A9FC9-FEE2-4993-873C-5D845E03847C.jpegD879DBAC-5E51-4530-8327-12471FA17FA7.jpeg0B25B8CF-BE93-4C9F-A312-D55E926F550A.jpegC9C9A4CB-0DDD-475C-B850-0E717F72587B.jpeg

Aaaaaaand the hybrid, set at 24 degrees with a UST Recoil 480 ESX F4 stiff shaft. This thing just looks gorgeous! From what I experienced

Looking good. 🔥🔥🔥 I really liked the hybrids at my fitting.👊

Me too, it is going to end up being a real secret weapon I think. Probably not even that secret!

You got Tensei Orange in a 3w...Niiiice!

For some reason it was the only shaft I could actually launch with any consistency and gave the best numbers. We realised that the 3w was never going to be the fairway club for me and would be more of a driver replacement, so gave a great flight off the tee and more roll. The 5 will be the cannon off the deck into par 5s and long par 4s.

Atleast we know you're not a hobbit. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
Hahahahaha although I have been saying “my precious” a lot over the past hour or so 😂

Had a good play with these last nights, and have to say that I loved each of them!

Starting with the SZ hybrid. Launched easily and just wanted to go straight. Fantastic sound off the face and already have the world of confidence in it after only a few shots. Perhaps not as high launching as my current Ping, but I am completely convinced that this is just as I get used to it and play with ball positioning etc. Distance wise, was exactly where I need it to be coming in after the 5i and gaps perfectly. Looks great behind the ball, and the confidence is there that it will do just what it is supposed to.

The 3 wood was interesting, because it's not a club I'd ever had in my bag before. Hitting it off the deck was predictably poor, just don't think I have the swing speed or technique to properly get the best out of it but was rolling out towards 240ish which will do perfectly well for getting home on long par 4s or par 5s. I have it really for a driver replacement on short or tight tee shots and it did admirably well here. Teeing it up slightly, the ball flew high and straighter than I would have ever expected. Probably not as much distance off the tee as I had hoped, but I fully put this down to the fact that I was swinging quite tentatively with it being slightly outside my comfort zone. Very solid off the face and felt...well, fast!

5 wood again was great fun to hit. Off the mat it was around 10 yards carry less than my current G410 but as I mentioned previously it's only to be expected until I get used to the feel of a new club. Like the 3 wood, it was going dead straight each time, and again while not as high launching as the Ping there were one or two shots that indicated that once I get it dialed in, it will launch even higher and further. This club is going to be a true weapon in the bag :)
