The Mini Driver Revolution OK, perhaps revolution is a bit dramatic, but the intent behind choosing that wording is sound. After all, the mini driver is absolutely back and undergoing way more than just a renaissance. At present, we are seeing not just greater Tour adoption of mini drivers, but also more companies throwing their […]

It’s here!!! So excited about this release - I have a feeling it’s going to end up in mine (and many others bags).

Great writeup @Jman !

This is one of the realeses I have been waiting for can’t wait to see this start getting into people’s hands and get more real world information on them.

Great write up @Jman

Future fit and moveable weight is going to give this absolute peak adjustability

This is a Monday morning treat

Been waiting on this one too excited to see movable weight and future fit togther

That's awesome. Thanks for the write up @Jman I was excited to see what they would come out with. I know what the cc differences mean in a vacuum, I'm unsure how that truly translates to the course but I'm obviously very hopeful that it'll be a great second option or 3wood replacement, which is what I have always viewed it as for my game.

A couple things that stand out and really interest me:
- Size: To @Jman’s point, 300 cc falls between other brands minis, which gives it a bit more flexibility between off the tee and off the deck shots. It’s one reason I’m able to hit my current mini off the deck so well (it’s 280).
- Adjustability: I love the addition of the two weight ports, giving the golfer the ability to adjust the front and back weight to really accentuate what they want the club to do.
- FF33: No surprise here, but ecstatic this comes with the FF33 adapter to give the golfer even more flexibility.

So stinking pumped to see this in person!

My take (and others can agree / disagree) - the cc of the mini sits between a 3W (call it 170-180 cc) and driver (460), toeing a fine line between giving you more confidence/forgiveness off the tee (with size of head) while giving you the ability to hit off the turf (by ensuring head is has some depth to aid in that shot).

I’ve found some minis harder to hit off the deck because they are too large - this seems like a great size that isn’t too obtrusive but still gives you confidence.

Another interesting nugget - shaft options.

It comes standard with the Kai’li but it appears Cobra offers a bunch of other options (both non up-charge and up-charge). I noticed they offer a bunch of UST options without an upcharge, even though they aren’t Powercore (at least according to the name / picture). Curious to see that develop, since it was discovered that Wilson is offering the Powercore as a non up-charge as well. Regardless, still great to see so many UST options available.

Oh hello there you big ******* sexy. I love my DS Adapt Cobra driver and tinker with the FutureFit all the time. Driver is my word club in the bag. I definitely want this.

Imagine her with a UST Mamiya LinQ Powercore.

Great writeup @Jman !
Is it sad that my first thought on reading the title was about how happy you'd be? I also noticed they specifically gave more forgiveness on lower strikes, so that could really help you hitting it off the deck.

With all of the adjustability options I'm really wanting to try this out. I haven't been bitten by the mini bug, but this could change that.

Great write up @Jman ! I was curious about the naming convention and you did a great job covering that.

@ChrisATL and @Daluteh don't forget the F33 hosel lets it adjust lie independent from 11.5 all the way to 15.5 so it can be lofted in true 3w loft range if one chooses to

This could be a unicorn in the making

There it is! Finally. I know you are happy @Jman !

Great article! I’ll check out the site in a bit to review options. At 300cc, this should slot in a bag nicely.

Great call - it makes it extremely versatile

While I’m sure it will be missed by many, that last bit about the shaft is super important and awesome. The shaft length allows it to be moved into a 3w and played at standard 3w length, and vice versa.

I’m currently playing another mini and having to buy expensive aftermarket shafts and cut them to a weird in between length hurts my sole a little. This feature designed by Cobra helps the wallet.

Nothing about golf clubs is a need per se. However, you do need to at least demo it.

Another help to the wallet is since Cobra seems a little more willing to sell heads only you can easily use your existing Cobra 3w shaft if you have one

Well shoot, I don’t need another mini driver to battle it out but I think I want one haha.

Well done @Jman and I definitely look forward to your thoughts as I know how many options you’ve tested in this spot.

I don't think I'll be getting rid of my Elyte anytime soon but I am happy to see this one finally come to market. There's a lot to love with this one.

Thanks for the writeup @Jman

Great write up as always @Jman This one has to bring a huge smile to your face. Look forward to your thoughts when you get to put one in play. I’d say they nailed the size of this one. FF33 will make this do versatile for a wide group or golfers.

As previously mentioned, we could be seeing the birth of a true:

*I fully admit I am fanboying out on this one, but once again, we are seeing that Cobra took their time and thought this out; they did not cobble together a half measure just to get something to market, they thought it through to create a club that truly fits in a line and has features that genuinely cater to real golfers

This is a really good write up. I’m very ignorant in the mini driver space so articles like this not only inform me of the tech with the specific release but educate me more on the mini driver as a whole.

This is an offering that I think I need to try
