Cobra KING TEC MD Mini Driver

The 13.5 degrees of loft works perfect for me in theory. It's a nice slot for a Driver alternative vs driver replacement. At 13.5 my driver should be longer than the mini still, but the Mini should give me enough distance to work with when the Driver isn't playing nice or there is trouble in the Driver landing zone. And the added size of the clubhead should give me more forgiveness than going 3W.
Exactly. For me personally it would never be a driver replacement but I can see it being a viable alternative. Plus on some courses it might be the smarter and more fun play than driver whereas hitting a 3w off the tee isn't always the case haha

Would you find the mini driver to be more of a replacement for a 3W or a 5W?

Didn’t want or need a mini driver but after seeing this my wallet is now worried.. What kind of shaft you guys going with on these mini drivers? Same as your driver or similar to a 3w?

3w for sure, I think a 5w is much more versatile off the deck

Whats the verdict with this club off the deck?

This is the best looking mini now by a mile.

Great article @Jman! I've been mini-curious for a long while and even more so after trying one during bonus golf last event.

I honestly never thought to use a mini from the deck. But reading about the reasoning in the article made it make sense. I've always considered a mini to be a second tee club and that's it. That's why it's lived in my mind as even more of a niche club. I changed my 5W to a more forgiving one to have an easier time hitting from the deck. Now I'm thinking to add a mini in between driver and the 5W...

The combo of changeable weights and FF33 makes this a dream to get just right.

That is a nice looking mini driver. If I swapped my BRNR out, the top of my bag would be all Cobra. Hmm?

It’s a mini, it’ll always be more difficult to hit off the deck than a standard fairway wood.

I wonder if I send an email to Cobra's incredible customer service team asking for them to ship my King Tec mini driver now if I promise not to open the box until January 16th, they would do it  😂😂

Ya its likely geared for off a tee. I've been looking for an upgrade from that Ping Rapture 3 wood from 10+ years ago.

Here is a portion of the article that i missed (skimmed) the first time, but I think it awesome to know for anyone who has the DS-Adapt 3W and is thinking of giving this a try...

"Worth noting: any standard-length Cobra 3W shaft can be plugged into the MD to hit this playing length, and likewise, the shaft here will play standard in any Cobra 3W."

That is huge for those of us who want to tinker a bit and get dialed in with what we already have.

I'm also hoping they will ship so it arrives on the 16th. Honestly think there is a chance.

It's a big fairway wood. Hit down on it. 13.5° is plenty of loft to get it airborne.

They’re absolutely aimed mostly at the tee, it’s part of why they’ve historically been extremely niche clubs

Have you had a chance to demo them yet?
Demo? What is that? ;)

For real, while the footprint is smaller than the Elyte mini, I've been waiting on this drop to get some Cobra goodness back in my bag. If it doesn't work out, there are other degenerates out there that will take it off my hands, but I suspect it's going to perform just fine.

This is the way.

OH! I should also add, it sounds fantastic. They NAILED it there.
Yeah. Hearing the video of @Lord Tox hitting it has me curious based just on the sound. And I have been Mini Driver curious for a few years now...

Great write-up @Jman! I'm fully in the pro mini driver camp so love seeing more options come out. I've come to like the 340cc in my mini, but 300cc seems like a good middle ground. I also thought it was really interesting how they are able can come to market with a single SKU at 13.5* and let FF33 take care of the loft options. In a very niche category, I bet only having to produce one head makes a big difference for Cobra.

Honestly, it sounds like it looks. Perfect.

Feeling ok today? Flu is going around.... :ROFLMAO:
Been sick with it already.

Hoping one makes its way to HQ for review before I leap.

I’ve always had better luck with a three Wood shaft personally
