Cobra KING TEC MD Mini Driver

Didn’t want or need a mini driver but after seeing this my wallet is now worried.. What kind of shaft you guys going with on these mini drivers? Same as your driver or similar to a 3w?
I typically play driver weight shafts in mine since they’re tee clubs. But, 3w weight works well too.

For those that mini, I'm sure this will work really well. The adapter is really really good

Here is a portion of the article that i missed (skimmed) the first time, but I think it awesome to know for anyone who has the DS-Adapt 3W and is thinking of giving this a try...

"Worth noting: any standard-length Cobra 3W shaft can be plugged into the MD to hit this playing length, and likewise, the shaft here will play standard in any Cobra 3W."

That is huge for those of us who want to tinker a bit and get dialed in with what we already have.
By missing this did you order the same shaft as you have in your 3 wood?

I will likely give it a try, but I really need a good fairway club as well, so as much as I love the looks it might not be for me.

I play a 70-ish gram shaft in mine at 43.5" playing length.

This is why I’ve fallen in love with my mini into a 7W combo, for many others it’s been mini into 5w

@Jman any thoughts as to where this would fall spin-wise against the Elyte and Smoke mini?

Mini into a 250 yard 7w 😭

I’ve only got a couple swings in a really way far from what I’d normally play setup, but I’m guessing lower spin with heavy forward. That said, the Callaway’s are the highest spinning minis I’ve tested (Elyte much less than Ai)

Is the size of the Cobra taking away much from the forgiveness? It seems like a good sweet spot size-wise to me.

Size alone will means there will be a difference, add in the spin and the Elyte is in a class of its own playability wise in the mini segment imo. But, this is amply playable, and weight back, it’ll shock some people.

Thats the beauty of FF33. I for one like the 13.5 slot, it gives you options to fit the gapping and shot shape you require
Same here I was considering adding one this year in the 13.5 loft and now I have another option to consider. I doo like the 300cc footprint. 1st BRNR was 304cc I think and it looked good to my eye. Need to see this sucker in person.

I have the mini-elyte and it served me well but I won't be jumping back into the mini world. That being said: this looks really good and appears to be lower spinning. Its a great option for a lot of golfers

No. While I am familiar with the LINQ M40X Blue from the years of playing it, I did not have a 3W shaft with the FF33 adapter in my collection. This will give me the chance to try both the LINQ Blue and the Denali Blue from my DS-Adapt 3W.

Eventually, I suspect that a LINQ Blue Powercore will find its way into this club.

Do you think I could play the mini driver in place of the 5W? I am thinking of going 3W and 7W for those fairway lies on a par 5, and replacing the 5W for this club exclusively as a tee option.

Man, the thought to swap out the same shaft between this and the 3HF between course need and my mood is really inviting.

I dont know if I could play 2 fairway woods. I love my 3 wedges, and not sure what club I would drop.

I do that between two mini's right now, but- it's truly been fun for me to be able to look at course and determine which one is coming with during that day.

Had this on course a few months ago and let me tell you, I wasn't a mini driver guy, but I am now. This is everything I didn't know I needed but I do.

Need to get one of these in hand and hit. Looks really good from this view

Yeah, I play driver, mini, 7W (19), 23 hy or ut, into irons then three wedges.

Currently, D, Ping 13 deg Rapture, 3-5H, 6-PW, 50, 54, 58. Could potentially lose the 5H, but that club gets a lot of use on par 3's.
