Cobra KING TEC MD Mini Driver

I definitely don’t get any ting out of it hahaha.

Firm? Yes. More firm than my R7 or Elyte? Absolutely. But it’s still a solid sound more than one that resonates too much.

I love the sound. I find it incredibly satisfying.

As long as it doesn't sound like a Ping driver I'll be happy.
Current PING drivers don’t have that issue fwiw. After the 425 destroyed ear drums, they addressed it.

But no, this isn’t loud at all lol

Ahem, cough… my current gamer.

Man. Sim rounds today at the Brute. Hole 1 is a mini for me from the tees because the big can put me into the stream. There are 2 other holes where from a narrowing perspective make the mini the play. Like they get worse around 280 and then opens back up around 300.

Playing 36, it was 6 shots. It allowed me to maximize the distance before it narrows. Each went over 270. Gave me comfortable wedge shots or secondary shots into the green. Each hit the fairway.

If my secondary club can go 6/6, it just builds crazy confidence moving forward.

Only hit a few time but never felt solid to me. I much prefer the feel of the tm mini but face is closed. So either a 15.5 mini delofted to max or the quantum mini.

This club is so obnoxiously good.

I’ve got every current mini out right now, and this is just the best blend of all of them for me. And SO much speed.

For the last two rounds, my driver accuracy has eluded me. After the first we holes, I have switched to the Mini Driver exclusively in both rounds. And in both rounds, I started to find the fairway and get my game back on track. Each of those rounds had the potential to be huge numbers, but were not.

I tee the ball up a bit lower than driver, and just air for the middle of the widest part of the fairway. And most times the ball just flies right there. I have been seeing 250 and more from this club with what feels like an effortless swing. I am playing the stock, no upcharge LINQ Blue M40X right now, but plan on moving to a powercore in the same flavor soon.

I bought this club to be a specialty club for three holes on my home course. It has become a safety blanket for me off the tee, which is currently the biggest struggle point of my game.

Anyone notice that Rickie Fowler's MD is a 13* not 13.5*, and it's written on the hosel in TWO fonts! Yes, golf nerd here...

I will second this. This has surpassed them all. It’s so efficient in how it delivers the ball and the distance I get. It’s so easy.

That this tops the R7 is something special.

Likely a hand picked head.

It really is an absolute hoot to hit.

And the sound. It’s so satisfying. You can just tell by feel and sound that it’s launched.

You guys rocking 70 gram shafts in this? Also, anyone playing this - 1/2"?
I’m at stock length. Driver and MD are both 60. My 5W is 70. Off the tee I wouldn’t change a thing with the combo I went with.

Im so glad none of the BagBoys have one. I know I'd try it, that could get Very expensive.
If we play in the same group on Sunday you can hit it on the course. Otherwise you’ll be limited to range time because I’m gonna need this baby helping me get around the course.

Truth be told I’m coming around to seeing it as a niche club. I’ve never really struggled with a 3W off the tee or off the deck. Some years were better than others but it was never a case of thinking I shouldn’t have it in my bag.

The number of times I pulled 3W and the 303cc MD head started swaying me. It’s more forgiving off the tee than a 3W. The size of the face helps. Despite never really hitting a 3W bad, the MD makes it easier to hit off the tee. The extra distance over an 3W isn’t a bad thing either.

Off the deck it’s tougher. But I rarely pulled 3W off the deck. There were always hazards or smarter options over a 3W off the deck. So yeah, I’m using the MD as a bit of a niche club but it fills that niche very well. I think it’s a big advantage in being a better secondary option for me off the tee.

Mini is and always will be a niche club. No matter how may OEM’s start making them.

I’d like to disagree but I can’t. But I do feel like it’s gotten better at filling that niche. Or maybe my swing just makes it a better fit now. I remember really wanting the Callaway Big Bertha 1.5 to work but it just didn’t.

It’s always been a niche club. Every version. Ever.

I’ve been the leader of the fan club of them for over a decade now, but they’ve always been a niche club.

You are welcome to try mine in the Bagboy pre rounds!

This freaking club. Off the tee its point and shoot with insanely fast speeds. I initially thought there is no way I'm hitting this off the deck. But...surprisingly, its pretty easy to hit off the deck too, even being a bit bigger. Its not going to get as high as a 3w but its useful. Shaping, looks and sound are also perfect. If you are looking at mini's this should be at or near the top of your list.
