For those of you that have hit this off the deck how does it do in the rough? Or is this a fairway only club?

Hoping we eventually get one in hand to review, for sure.Great write up as always @Jman This one has to bring a huge smile to your face. Look forward to your thoughts when you get to put one in play. I’d say they nailed the size of this one. FF33 will make this do versatile for a wide group or golfers.
Yea that makes sense. I think a lot of people would feel the same way too.The more forgiveness part really and a bit larger surface area to miss haha
Neutral to fade imo, but leaning more towards neutral.@Jman - enjoyed the read and like how they aren’t shy about moving shafts around with FF33 as a selling point.
At time the King Tec line, at least with hybrids, was a bit more fade biased of a line. Did it ever come up if that was the case here?
Well here is the thing. I have never once been a I'll hit 3w guy off the tee, I'm driver always...unless there is trouble ahead in range. The mini allows me to hit less than driver but still gives me more forgiveness than a 3w would.
It was so fun to hit. This thing is awesome and now we can finally talk about it! I hit a drive about as well as I can on 18 at Victoria National. Using @LittleRat 's Mini, @Jman managed to finish 3 yards past me. This is the one piece of equipment this season that has "must add" status.

A red F3? Did you hit it off the moon? Or because this isn’t as high spin were you able to keep it out of orbit?I covered on 18 with it. Not the most aggressive line possible, but aggressive.
And that was with Jose’s red F3 in it.
Wow... That's impressive.I covered on 18 with it. Not the most aggressive line possible, but aggressive.
And that was with Jose’s red F3 in it.
All minis will struggle from the rough, specifically if the ball settles at all, it’s the nature of a really deep face. For those of you that have hit this off the deck how does it do in the rough? Or is this a fairway only club?
I’d been waiting a darn year (since last pga show) to talk about itI’m guessing this one woke them up even more when hearing about it
This was discussed on several YouTube Reviews between 280-300-340 CCs. The 280 was always easier off the Deck (according to Reviews)Just a little random discussion note, more depth typically makes a club more difficult to hit off the deck as it shifts the CG axis, it’s why the easiest to hit from the turf woods/hybrids are on the shallow end of the spectrum.
I think we are past fad now, and I’m one that’s been waiting for the bottom to fall out on them like it always has in the past.Thank you @Jman for the article.
I admittedly don\'t understand the mini driver fad, but also I am not their target audience because I am pretty confident with my 3w from the tee or off the deck.
That being said, If Cobra is jumping into the mini market, they no doubt have put the time and effort to do it right.
Other adapters also can bring that much into play, but not with the uncoupling of loft and lie like FF33. That is why the adapter being present is exciting to see in mini, not simply loft.Since it gives you 4 degrees of loft, id argue it’s extremely versatile and players could find this fit for multiple uses. So excited to get this in my bag.
I need to do more YouTube reviews I guessThis was discussed on several YouTube Reviews between 280-300-340 CCs. The 280 was always easier off the Deck (according to Reviews)
I know, pretty lameHow very responsible of you
LH market is only profitable in Canada probablyI think the LH market in general is hard to gauge, especially when it comes to niche/specialty offerings.
When I got into my Whatnot rabbit hole last year, it was funny to watch people complain repeatedly that there wasn't any LH offerings in the auctions - yet whenever a seller would offer a LH club, nobody would bid on it, and it would sell for pennies on the dollar. I watched a brand new, still in plastic Qi35 LH driver sell for $150.
Definitely not for everyone, but well worth trying just for grins! They’re a hoot.Great write up @Jman!!!
I know I don't need a Mini, but you always make me want one, with statements like this:
"In terms of adjustability, the KING TEC MD features a dual weight system to allow mass movement forward/back to dial in spin, speed, as well as effectiveness off the deck for those that seek it."
Fair...didn't mean my comment to be solely focused on loft. You are spot on with loft / lie decoupling.Other adapters also can bring that much into play, but not with the uncoupling of loft and lie like FF33. That is why the adapter being present is exciting to see in mini, not simply loft.
