When it comes to metalwoods, specifically drivers, momentum is everything for brands in the golf industry. Not in the sense of a flash-in-the-pan product cycle that shows up for one season and disappears the next, but as something that must be built from the ground up. Through countless iterations, unwavering conviction, and a willingness to […]

YES!!! Let's go. New Cobra arrives and it is again fantastic. I can't wait to try it out.

And let my morning reading begin thanks @Jman

A couple nuggets that stood out:

-23% reduction in dispersion for OPTM over DS-Adapt (!!!)
-the slightly rounder shape of the head to better balance POI across the three axes is such an interesting design change
- the X shape is a slight nod to the old F9, a favorite of many (including myself)

Looks like it could come down to the X and
K for me…

One final thing - I feel like Cobra kicking off the POI vs MOI debate is just another example of how they will continue to push the envelope of innovation & design in a meaningful way.

Can’t wait to pick the Cobra team’s brains on this in a couple months…

That is one of my big knowledge learns this morning.

There's always more to something than just a story says, but this is really explaining a new way of thinking about the drivers ball release.

The offset waiting versus an asymmetrical set up we’ve always seen in the past. It’s very interesting.

I challenged someone who reviewed this club to take this driver to a simulator and hit it in at least 25 seconds 10 shots each. I’ve done 26 last year and I’m not gonna ask you to beat me but I want you to give me the effort. 🤣

I glanced through the article and can’t wait to read it more thoroughly when I get time. I really enjoy the @Jman articles where we’re learning something new! POI sounds interesting!

If those numbers hold, I will be amazed that the DS Adapt is a damn consistent driver

I can honestly say the DSAdapt was game changing for my Driver. I hit more fairways and i hit them long, for me. Finding the right setting on the hosel was a boon in me hitting more greens from the fairway. I am more consistent and then reading the OPTM is Reducing the Dispersion over DS.....come on.

My initial thoughts:
- POI vs MOI makes an absolute ton of sense and I'm surprised its taken OEMs this long to push it
-Rounded design reminds me of the Supermarine Spitfire where more elliptical wings provided better performance
-I'm interested to see how they arrived at the 23%. Is that in standard A1 or after adjusting the FF33?

All in it sounds like another amazing metalwood line that hopefully doesn't fly too much under the radar like the DS-ADAPT did.

This is 💯 where I’m at too!!

Great article @Jman!

the POI talk is interesting and makes sense. I love to hear 23% better dispersion, that is crazy.

I haven’t hit a Cobra driver since the Radspeed days, but this may have to change this year.

@Jman great as always:

Those who get to go to the Cobra Classic, if you are not having in-depth conversations about POI, you are missing something.

I love how Cobra has a clear direction, they are going with their line and what they are doing here, they are not chasing things because other companies are; they have an area they think will help golfers and they are putting their time and effort into it that's a winning strategy in my book.

Been waiting for this day for some time!

Just checking out the customer options, there is no Powercore options listed as of today. Just posting for those that have been waiting and wondering. Maybe that will change?

I read the article front to back, but still feel like I’ve missed something and will have to read it again, but 23% reduced dispersion from DS-Adapt is pretty crazy. I’m a fan of the return to F9 like characteristics and look forward to giving this a whirl. Well done as always @Jman

Man that is A LOT to unpack! This driver looks good. I would say, Cobra's best looking driver in a minute. Want to see the crown pics though. I have seen some stuff online and see that it's gloss, but man this sure looks good! Great writeup @Jman !

Believe me - I’m ready to nerd out on this topic.

Great article @Jman. Those of us lucky enough to be at the 2025 Morgan Cup obviously heard about the focus on low POI from Jose and Doug and it kind of blew our minds. The 23% better dispersion than last years driver is kind of nuts. Cannot wait to try these out.

Its been a long time since i could walk up to a tee box and feel confident with my driver that i can, at 68, hit the ball over the corner and KNOW its going to draw on command. Then turn around a few holes later on the longest par 4 on my home course the i am going to hit a little bleeding fade, JUST AS LONG. I KNOW its from the ability to find a setting on the DS Adapt and the work that Cobra has done in the Technology and research. Now pushing the limits with POI.....reading back over this article for the third time. Great info @Jman
