Really excited to see how the OPTM fares in the hands of players.

The Max K is such a special driver, hopefully the OPTM can take it all to another level!

So, I was going to do nothing more, but then I got curious. I moved the loft to +2/0 (C7) AND put the heaviest weight in the back. Ball speeds reacted accordingly, but the drastic change in spin, launch, and peak were fun to see. Clearly this is me taking setting to the extreme other end of things, but man, what is there to not like here? Especially when you look at shot 6 which was LOW on the face, spin jumped, but not crazily and it was straight as can be.

BIG quick thoughts, directionally this makes no sense to me. These were NOT great swings, but the reactions I got off the face directionally were clearly REALLY exciting. Want to get it outside ASAP. If you have questions, fire away. Will also try to get out and do a real warmup in the days before I leave for the PGA show and get another set.

Safe assumption! I tried to convince myself I'd wait until I get to hit them, but what fun is that?? I've been so excited about this release for a few months.

So, silly question..... how many Morgan Cup members had seen/swung one of these prior to the announcement this morning?

How would you compare the forgiveness from your max k?

Are you able to post weights of the driver heads?

We saw the presentation. Didn’t get to see the actual clubs.
 
Incredible job on the breakdown of POI @Jman ! During the presentation I wasn't quite understanding it but it was much easier to understand with the way you put it in to words that I could read a couple times!

It’s kind of apples to kumquats honestly, this is still every bit an LS head, and the MOI of the two aren’t in the same sphere of existence haha

I was the ultimate believer after hitting the Max K late in the year last year. I know based on what we saw, the OPTM Max K is a little more refined, but didn't see the massive bumps the other heads did on the POI front. So no doubt everyone saying the X is going to be the star of line this year are correct. I bet it's going to be a MONSTER!

I never have been and never will be a gloss guy so I personally think these don't visually look as good as the DS-ADAPT to me, but the shaping is pretty sweet. Another year of Cobra absolutely nailing the stock headcover though, and I'm giving them the win already. They just get it when it comes to the headcovers. It looks so damn good
 
Admittedly, of the session I posted a bit earlier, this is the one that made me snort.

Let me have that spin, launch, and speed when just swinging stock like today and I’d be over the moon.

This thing is fast. I am curious if you switch the weights it will optimize this a little bit more. As is I see nothing wrong for us mere mortals, but the lunatic in me thinks you've got some speed and yards left to find here.
 
23% better dispersion is a wild number! Year to year, you are looking at small, nominal gains. But, 23 %..... wow! Sole aesthetics aren't great, but looks don't matter, just performance. Headcover is disappointing compared to the last few years.

At the Morgan Cup, I asked a very similar question. I am someone how initially had trouble closing the face. I solved that issue with a shaft change, and that allowed me to time up my swing better. the Max K became a weapon for me since then.

That said, and to your point, Jose suggested I try the X and not just jump straight into the K blind. The OPTM X is going to be closer to the DS-Adapt K than the DS-Adapt X was, if that makes sense. So for people like me, and it seems like you, the OPTM X may be in that magical goldilocks zone for us.

Agreed, I’m definitely eager to tinker around with things.

Also curious how much I can get out of it when loose and not in jeans, hahaha

The LS with the new Chrome Tour X or the VS Black would be so much fun. But I fear that it would be like riding a dragon for me. I have come to love "boring" golf of being in or near the fairway.
