Cobra OPTM Fairway Woods and Hybrids

The 9w has arrived!!!
How do you like it? (assume you went straight to the range and or course to hit it). I almost ordered one to try but figured I could crank the 7w up a bit if needed.

Thinking of testing another shaft for the 7w - one that I have used quite a bit in 7w before. I believe the DS-adapt tip is the same as these, correct? Anyone know if the shaft length would be the same - I think a stock 7w has a 41.25" tip to butt of grip length.

Tips are the same. Not 100% sure length would be the same but I’d guess likely so, or close enough

It’s good. Need to get it on course properly

Okay so I did a thing and have 5, 7 and 9 wood OPTM X fairways coming with UST LINQ M40X red shafts.

Excited to get these in. Plan to bump the loft down on the 5 wood to 4 wood range and these should slot in right where I want them.

I took 3 swings with @Scooby45's OPTM X 9 wood yesterday before quickly handing it back, here were the results:

The metrics displayed are: ball speed, apex, carry distance, and descent angle.

Any more swings and it might have become an expensive trip to the range.

9 woods are fun...

I’ve been reading this thread tonight and catching up. As someone who’s not planning on being in the FW market this year, I’ve been shocked by how much I like the OPTM X driver so now I’m thinking it may be worth an exploration in the FW as well.
You’d need to explore the LS.

The FF33 is the adapter. You can check the length on Cobra's website.

I’ve only found the full club length. I can just measure when I have one in hand.

My mint demo 7w arrived this afternoon just as I was firing up the sim to play. Still wrapped in plastic with the FF33 sticker on the side of the head. Popped in my RB and swapped the weights to have the 11g on the toe and turned the FF33 down to F4 so it is playing around 18.6*

Stripe. Show. I don’t think I hit it more than 2-3 yards of draw or fade once. 🔥

Is it the X? If so, is the face about 1/4”?

It is the X. I’d have to measure but I know when they came out I saw it was like 1 mm deeper than the Adapt X face, which I wanted.

I try to tell you people things 😜🤣

I think it'll be between 1" (25.4mm) and 1.125" (29m), I think only the LS is a full 1 1/4 (32mm).

stopped by the golf shop and here’s LS 14.5 compared to the 21 X. Almost imperceptible difference. I’m excited about that.

I’m so pumped to get the 9w in and roc that for the season. I’ve had stellar success with my tm 7w so hoping this beats that

I had two approach shots into par 5s last round that were perfect for my new 7w.
Only issue was I don’t have the 7w yet.

9w taking the bag spot of the 7w?

I don’t have the OPTM 7w yet so I’m still gaming my current one. I can’t wait to play the new one with all the FF33 adjustment options.

New here but have been reading through this thread to decide on what to go with. Just got cleared to resume golfing after my 3rd neck surgery. So I had to treat myself to a new D, 3w, 5w, 7w. I ended up getting the Cobra OPTM X for all of those. Went with the Mitsubishi Chemical Kai'li Dark Waves Blue 60 Graphite Stiff Flex for all of those. I currently game the shaft in my driver and 5w and have no issues with it. They should be here next week, looking forward to playing with these.

Yesterday, went to the range and was supposed to take it easy. Hit a bag of balls with my 7 iron and chipped for an hour. Um...I'm really sore, crazy how my neck and upper body has been so out of whack for the last two years. from my 2nd neck surgery that failed to fuse. Hopefully this will be a better year golf wise.

OPTM X 7w got here today.
Didn’t get a chance to log any pre round practice with it as I was short on time, so my first swing with this thing was on course, going for a par 5 in two.
I did come up about 10 yards short, because it was a little out of my range realistically. But dang, initial thoughts are this thing is as advertised. Easy to elevate off the deck and should be a club that will hold greens on long approach shots.
I have the heavy weight in back, A1 setting to start.
