We just finished our first ever cruise for a family vacation, Disney Cruise on the Magic for my daughter's birthday.

While it was great, Mickey overload from morning to night was getting tedious by the last day.

We definitely are going to cruise again so curious what folks here think about what's the best cruise company, value for money etc. Disney costs are insane obviously.

We have been on Royal Caribbean & Carnival cruises in the past. Did I notice a difference between the two? Carnival tended to be more of a party boat. We were happy with RC but you have to do the upgraded dinner plan.

We've only ever done Disney and yeah, the costs were nuts but I can't complain about much. The food and entertainment were top notch.

Love cruises but you couldn't pay me to go on a Disney cruise.
I prefer quiet and less kids but thats just me and there is no Casino on Disney ships.

Disney is the best.

So clean. Not filled with oblivious drunks.

no casino is only negative.

Disney definitely has the way to keep the drunken stuff down with no drinks packages, expensive drinks etc so I can see the appeal against the other brands.

Hadn't considered the drunken component on other cruise lines.

We just got back last week from the Disney Wish also. The kids love it. It's done well just like most Disney stuff but not cheap. It was a good experience. I hear you on Mickey burn out.....

Never been, never will as wife gets sick on short ferry rides.

This was a concern but you barely notice the boat is moving, let alone side to side. Have to go to the outside decks to feel the wind.
Understand. But my wife has a mind of her own.

Thinking about taking a Disney Cruise for Christmas with the children. Any advice for a first time cruiser? The cruise leaves Cape Canaveral on 2/2-2/5 on Disney Wish.

I have not been on a Disney cruise but hear great things, especially with kid friendly activities. I enjoy the sit down restaurants over the buffets. Be sure to spend some down time in the sun on the deck to unwind.

Don’t harass the mouse.

We are going on the fantasy over Christmas. Sign up for everything as early as you can.

Haven’t done Disney. I was a curmudgeon about cruises; I was wrong. Based on my whopping experience of one cruise….start early on any legal documents (passports, etc), sign up early for excursions (they sell out), get to your departure city early, figure out a good parking solution while you are on ship, pay attention to number of nights and size of ship.

I’ve done a few Disney cruises. I enjoyed when you could bring your own beverages.. and then adults got too S faced in front of kids, and it wasn’t me lol

A drink package would just be nice, because I’m still dealing with someone else’s kids that aren’t mine!

Tag me in a day or two. I’ve been on a few and am glad to answer questions.

Wish is the newest one. I’ve been on it - great boat!

Guessing Nassau and Coco Cay?

So, a little change of plans. I booked a cruise on Disney Wish leaving Cape Canaveral 1/19 and returning 1/22. Paid in full last night, so we will be taking a cruise in 68 days!😳

Awesome! You're going to love it. How many kids and how old?

Absolutely get the photo package, seems cheesy but any where you see a character or princess or whatever they'll have photographers, really great not having to worry about pics and they're professional as well.

Never been on one.

What does that typically cost?

Cool. Obviously, you probably know about the Oceaneer's club, but they'll really enjoy it.
Is that the place you drop your children off at?
