I'm not sure if a thread like this exists - for some reason I thought I saw something the other day, but now can't find it for the life of me...

I am starting to dabble in the world of tinkering with golf clubs - reshafting, regripping, etc. - and I had a question about putters that I was wondering if anyone had some insight on.

Can you cut down or re-shaft a belly (or longer) putter to a standard 34-35" length? In my mind right now, the biggest issues would be: head weight, lie angle and loft.

I looked at teh TM website and their belly putters seem to have the same lie angle, so that's a plus. The heavier headweight seems easily changed with all the putter weight kits out there. My real issue would be loft. The standard putter based on the TM specs is 4 degrees of loft; the belly version is 2.5 degrees. How much of a change would that make? And is that something that can be adjusted?

Thanks for any thoughts you might have.

Thanks for the link - that's exactly the thread I was looking for...for some reason I could not find it.

No problem man. Good luck!
