Do extra layers affect your play at all?

Not really, if it's cold out (freakin' 40's here today) I'll wear a base layer that I normally wear cycling that keeps me very warm. So all I'll need is a long sleeve and a 1/4 zip over that and I'm usually good to go, maybe a vest too. But nothing is so bulky that it becomes an issue.

This really doesn’t bother me at all.

It definitely feels constricting and makes swinging more difficult. On the flip side, it makes it harder for me to overswing, which is probably a good thing.

Depending on the temps it can help. Sometimes an extra layer keeps things from getting too loose so yes, but not necessarily in a negative manner.

I struggle with layered pants. I seem to fight with the. As long as the tops don’t restrict my shoulders I don’t mind.

I remove the excess layers as soon as I can. If it's just a base layer (long sleeve 32 Degree or UA) shirt and a Polo then it's not a big deal. I will normally do that plus a vest if I have to. I don't like long sleeved jackets when I play.

The less I wear the better. I don't wear much of anything more than UA & a jacket at the most. I don't play in so many clothes that it hinders my swing, regardless of the temperature (y)

On the legs no. If my arms feel restricted in any way, yes absolutely. When it’s cold I’ll go base layer, polo and pullover. After that I have a sunderland jacket if it’s windy. Usually I’ll be ok with that

I typically play quite a few strokes worse when layering up.. This week I wore one of the lightweight sweaters we got my Grandaddy year to play for league and played pretty well.. These are the first long sleeve apparel I can swing and not feel much restriction at all.

Since I learned to play in Dubai I am used to playing in shorts and short sleeves, so too many layers definitely bothers me. At least now I can stand wearing long sleeves and even a rain jacket. However, if it is warm enough I prefer to embrace the rain and ditch the jacket anyway.

Yes but funnily enough it’s a mixed bag in that I definitely lose a touch of distance but my accuracy usually increases as me of my big faults is lifting the arms at the end of the swing and with layers I can’t do that as much.

Yes, and the reason I only play if it’s “shorts” weather. BUT I had to play in a scramble this week. Rain, cold, 38 degrees and windy. I was shivering so much I couldn’t lock on the range finder. I had on a t shirt, 2 underarmor cold gear long sleeve shirts, a short sleeve golf shirt and a Nike 1/4 zip.

Swung like crap, all hands.

5 layers? Crap.

I feel this deeply. It doesn’t really impact my scoring but does cause me to club up and swing easy.

There is likely a lesson there…

I can go one layer and a vest and be good. But anything more than that and the boa constrictor starts to engage.

Living up here in Michigan the weather has not been kind to golfers this year. I know others are experiencing the same. Its nearly the end of May and still having to dress not only warm but often wearing rain gear which brings extra layers. When you have to wear several layers does it affect your game at all? Do you enjoy it? I'm at about my wits end right now
I absolutely feel like they do. They feel very constraining to me.

I am in Michigan but I have only had two layers on so that doesn't interfere with my swing/play. I will admit I do wish I have one more layer on since both times out it was about 53 degrees but a good strong NORTH wind with gusting alot throughout the day.

I think it's more the conditions leading to me wearing layers more than it's the actual layers.

Working predominately outside … and layering up often .

When playing , in colder weather , I don’t think it bothers me.

Yes there is some , less manoeuvrability etc & the weather is less conducive to great golf ..

But you take what the game and weather offers ,

The results may vary but the game and enjoyment is no less

I typically can handle extra layers pretty well. No issues whatsoever playing with a heavyweight hoodie and long sleeves under that. Like @Muchmore and others have mentioned as long as its not excessively bulky I find it doesn't bother me. Maybe living in the northern half of the states plays a role in that though. I mean we are used to layering for at least 6 months of the year :ROFLMAO:

Yes. Yes it does. Though sometimes I feel like it helps me correct my driver swing a bit. The rest of my game is a mess when the layers are plentiful. Which has been a lot recently.

Yes. I already have to wear a restrictive back brace. Once layers are added, I feel like the danged Michelin Man.

Yes, i hate extra layers. HATE THEM. I'd rather be cold then play with a bunch of layers.
