Do you enjoy practice?

I love just about anything golf. Whether it's a structured mechanical practice at the range, just warming up going through clubs, or my simulated games on the range, I love it all. On the range, I'll often play a "hole." I hit driver, then guesstimate what my next club would be on a par 4 or 5, then aim at one of the target greens, and see if I can't stick one close. If not then I'll try to hit a pitch, etc.

I particularly like dropping balls around the green and working on hitting different types of shots. I'll try to say work through a chip, a mid pitch, and a higher flop with my 3 wedges from different lies.

Lot of short game games I like. Placing a towel down and trying to land the ball on it, etc. I'll place a ball marker or a tee distances from the hole, say at 2', 4', and 6' and then have a chip off. 1 point, 2, points, 3 points depending on where it settles.

I do not enjoy practice other than putting.

I enjoy hitting the ball. Sometimes I only have time for the range.

I don’t love practice, but I don’t hate it. I don’t bang balls but actually work on things and it’s rewarding to see the practice effort pay off on the course.

I used to enjoy practice way more than I did actually getting out to play.
I'm with you on this. Absolutely love to practice, work on improvements, and ingrain them. Over the winter months I rarely play (weather and daylight hours during the week) but I can practice and then when it gets back to playing again it takes a while for me to enjoy playing more than practicing.

Need to spend more time on my short game, and on the putting green but the lessons and practice work I put in over the winter has paid back on driver and approach shots on the course.

I love hitting balls. I really love actually working on something with a purpose. I can't really play all too much golf anymore so practice at least allows me to get the feel of hitting a ball well every once in a while

"If you can't be with the one you love, honey, love the one you're with."

I'd rather play more. But I can't. So I'll love it when I can hit a golf ball in any form.

I love to practice.... but I have learned over time that I need to be really measured about it. I used to go blindly hit balls for hours but realized it was hurting my game. There is nothing beneficial about grinding to exhaustion and letting bad habits creep into your swing. I live right by my home course. This is a typical practice week for me:

Monday, course and range closed but I can get on the practice green to work on lag putting for about 30-45 minutes.
Tuesday or Wednesday play nine during lunch and my 12 y/o and I usually go to the range in the afternoon. She likes to play.
Thursday, my daughter usually has a lesson and I will go work on short game and chipping for the hour she is working with her coach.
Friday, play if I can
Saturday or Sunday, I play if I can. Walk either 18 or 27 holes (usually 27).

Also, I am running a 5K in the mornings on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and then working on my back for 30ish minutes in the gym. On Tuesdays and Thursdays I am in the gym for an hour.

I sit behind a desk for my job so I try to be as active as possible when not working. Oh and I have a putting green in my office and take quick putting breaks all day long.

I enjoy aspects of practice. I enjoy trying new things, switching clubs, putting myself in positions that are challenging that I may face on the course.

I do not enjoy monotony of just grinding

I really enjoy practicing and range time. As long as there are target's. I do not like just sending balls out into an open space. Need targets to practice course scenario's and partials.

One of the reasons I grab the largest buy this get that for free promo at the range I use. It has a great short game area, covered/heated bays and a huge grass hitting area. Year round options.

You're not crazy, there is a huge difference between practice and bashing balls at the range. I love mindlessly swinging the club, but I hate when I have to focus and actually work on feels, or some other repetitive drill.

Truth be told, I like practicing golf more than playing. I can get into a zen state practicing that will never happen playing.

I love to practice, but this spring it's been so rainy and cold that I think I've only been able to get out and do it twice.....no wonder my game is so inconsistent.

My course has a nice range and short game area.....the green used to be one of the regular greens on the course; then they shortened a par 5 into a par 4, but
wisely left the old green for chipping and pitching, and they continue to maintain it like the regular greens. I usually begin a practice session there, hitting 50 yard pitch
shots first, then move in closer until I'm hitting chip shots at the various target flags they have on the greens. After about 30 minutes of short game practice like this,
I pick up the golf balls and go hit full shots on the range. I seldom hit drivers.....more likely irons and fairway woods, and maybe work on a a club that I hit poorly on my
last round.

When I'm done on the range, then I move to the putting green and spend about 15-20 minutes on putts of various lengths. I would spend longer, but my back gets
sore, so when that happens, I all it a day. I try to do this once a week during the season, and I think it really helps my game!

See Im the same way but I convince myself if I have time to practice I have time to play a round lol

I used to love practicing, especially short game/putting practice. Now, I'd rather play. Though, I know I need to practice more, I still piss and moan about how I am not improving while also not practicing.

I like to hit balls on the range, I havent found the love in practicing short game (which is where it is needed the most).
Now that I'm playing the right ball, I have found more fun in practicing short game. Having the option to put spin on the shots and needing to figure out what shot is best from where has made short game practice more fun.

Enjoy hitting balls at the range or on my skytrak.

Now I just need to find the same love of putting practice (cause that is boring...necessary, but boring).

But obviously would rather play.

The only practice sessions I enjoy is when dialing in a new club. Otherwise it’s just a warm up before hitting the course, a necessary evil for old bones.

I like it, but my honest excuse is that I don't have enough time to do everything with golf so I use the time I do have to play.

I'm hoping to be able to break that habit if I can get my son and I into lessons.

Love it. For me there is nothing more enjoyable than banging a large bucket of balls, moving to the chipping green and to the putting green for 15 minutes each. 4-4.5 hours can be tough to come by, but 1.5 hours of practice is doable most evenings.

Love it.

Tbh, it’s 95% of my golf experience. Finding the time to play for 5 hours is tough, but I can practice for an hour no problem.

I don’t hate practice but I don’t do it enough. It’s part of why I want to join a club to have better practice facilities available.

When I had access to a nice practice facility yes I used to love it- now that I don't have the access and only have a small range that's not overly impressive, I'd rather get out on the course and work through things there.

Yes I love to go practice, It gives me something to do and not sit around.
