Do you feel like you are playing the best putter for your game right now?

If you are playing a putter that you feel isn’t the best for your game right now is there a reason it’s still in the bag? If you are looking to change what are you looking at? (Are you getting fitted?)

I can not imagine a better putter for me, than this 2018 model... it is so good. The Scotty Fastback 1.5 comes close since the both of them have the same swing weight and the same head weight with the weights I installed.

The Grandaddy got me in the best putter I've ever played. Can't wait to talk about it and be able to get it out on the course.

I love a B style putter.

Nope. You've played with me...it's not just a clever screen name...lol.

That's why I have a $500 Scotty blade sitting in the corner now while I game a 20 year old 2-Ball mallet that I got for $30.

Putter is #1 replacement on my agenda this year, and I will probably get fitted for it before I drop another $500+. Eliminating excuses sucks, but I want to get better.

Honest answer, I thought so, but now I want to know so I'm going for a fitting.

Which one?

For me, the putter doesn’t matter. With some practice, I can adjust my putting swing to any club. It’s not difficult to adjust a putting stroke.

Yes, because I was fit for it and I trust the fitting.

Currently? Yes. Absolutely.

But tomorrow never knows

absolutely, love my broomstick df3 with TPT shaft. only thing I could consider switching to would be same spec but with a df2.1

Well, Im making more putts than before I acqurired it, so yeah, its the best for me for now, and into the far future.

I can't argue with results. I read about the Astral on here for months before taking the plunge last year and after doing the virtual fitting discussion and then following the steps to find the right hosel setup for me, the on-course results speak for themselves - nearly 3 strokes gained putting vs my prior putter. Went from struggling to be on par with a 10 hdcp to often grading out at scratch or better. Viva the mid-mallet. Viva Astral.

I have never done a putter fitting, so I cannot confidently say yes. I do like what I’m playing, but at some point I need to go for it and do a fitting.

not a negative comment - I just want to understand .. what the heck is a putter fitting? Sounds a little like going to buy a car and you go get fit for a car.

I cant definitely say its the best for me, but I'm feeling really good about the direction of my putting at the moment so I'm in a good spot.

Same. After the Quintic fitting and immediate results on the course, I've never felt more confident in my putter.

100%. The STS JB Cruiser as tested in Nov/Dec is that good.

No, absolutely not. I will be changing the putter in the bag this year. Since I'm going to rebuild the top of my bag and my wedges this year I'm going to get all of that ironed out before I go with a putter change. My irons aren't even safe this year - haha!

Anyway, I'm leaning on a Jailbird but will also consider other zero torque models, haven't done any comparisons yet.

It took a lot to get here. I finally learned what face type is best. i learned that zero torque and I arent the best marriage. So now I have two putters I can use for it.

But it took too many guesses for me to get here.

I do*

Not sure if you just don’t know about putter fittings, or you think they are unnecessary…But look at/into Quintic. Also SAM Putt Lab. SAM used to be the top of the line as it pertained to “fitting” and finding the best type of putter, but has since been replaced by Quintic.

I’ve done fittings on both. I’d have to look up the info given to me to speak better about them as it has been years, but it provides info on face and path of a putter

Thanks -- you are right about I do not about putter fitting.. - do not know if they are necessary or not. But for now I will stick to my B60 Putter - Does pretty well -- usually I have no 3 putts and usually under 30 putts a game. If I were younger it would be better.

I do. Or at least the right shape and toe hang. It works really well for me and mallets just seem to suit my putting stroke best.
