Do you purge or hang on?

Depends on the clubs. If it's something I know I'll never game again it gets purged relatively quickly. If it's something I still love, I'll usually hold onto it for a while. My Apex 21s are a good example of this. No intentions of moving them even though I'm firmly in a new set of irons now.

Putters are a different story. Has to be a terrible fit for me to move it with any speed.

I have a decent size collection in pro shop garage.

I hoard putters. But I'll get rid of everything wlse.

I was hanging onto a backup set incase a visitor needed them, but now I'll purge and put the proceeds towards something shiny and new/newish.

I purge things when there's trade in deals are going on.

I only like to have 2 bags. If I have anything besides that it is donated or used as a trade in.

1 set of clubs for me. I either trade in or sell my old set. No reason to keep old clubs.

I try to keep things to a minimum, except putters- I tend to keep them around.
Currently have some shafts for sale, as those seem to accumulate since I’m moving to R flex variants in all clubs.
Like many, I like to have 2 full bags in case of guests.
Right now, there’s 3 iron sets. Apex 21 Black, PXG Gen6 2x black, and Adams A4 Forged.
There is a set of ‘69 Staff Bullet Backs stashed away that were my late father’s.

Purge.

At least that is the plan - sometimes it takes me a while to get around to it.....

I have flipped some clubs and sets in the first half of the year when courses were closed due to weather and I had some time - turnaround on those was quick because I wanted to re-invest the profit into more "stock".

Now I'm playing I have less time and so that is on hold, and I have a backlog of my own discards due to upgrades I need to move on:

3 wedges and a 1 driver that I have replaced, and a few wedges I'm struggling to move from earlier in the year. I also have my "spare" set of clubs which I held onto while we got my son fitted as we sold his old set (a really poor fit for him) and had a wait for his new ones. They also need to go but I have a little more attachment to those !!

I also have a fairly poor condition bag I need to sell cheap or bin - but right now it is holding all the clubs I need to move on !!

I now purge once I upgrade with the exception of some special putters and an extra set I have leant to my niece.

Purge. I sold my entire bag that I had before I got into the Srixon event as soon as they arrived last year.

I don't have any extra irons right now. I have an extra driver and a couple of fairway woods that will eventually go in a spare bag for my family. I have a wedge along with a half dozen shafts that I just haven't listed for sale. Other than that I have a couple of Scotty and swag putters that I like having but don't use. But largely purge.

I have a ton of stuff, but my own rule is if it is given to me by a vendor, I don’t sell or trade it since I didn’t pay for it. This has led to a rather large collection of stuff.

I purge. Most of my stuff gets donated to the 1st Tee.

Better at purging than I was. I’m still hanging onto 3 bags from Experiences, a couple of putters and some shafts.

So now that I’ve settled into my current golf set up. I find myself with some extra clubs, extra putters a couple of extra bags, a wedge or two…etc.

One of my buddies has a basement full of various clubs, bags and so forth. He just can’t seem to part with it. Thinks…I might try that driver again someday or I might use that putter sometime, but he never does.

How about you? I just put my two extra bags on Facebook marketplace I think I want to just streamline everything.

Thin the herd. Avoid the urge to hoard.

There are only 2 clubs that I don't think I'd ever get rid of, both are putters.

The first is a Ping MLT that my parents got me in '73 when I was 12. It was my very first putter and after hanging on to it this long I see no reason for it needing to go.

The second is a Ping Anser that I got the following year. After gaming countless putters over 50 years I've always come back to this one. It's like a trusty old friend and it's what's in my bag today.

I really don't have a lot of extra clubs hanging around anyway. So, it could all go and it wouldn't bother me.

A bit of both.

Binge and purge.

I stay in the used aisle so I’ll pick up a few things, see what I like, then sell the rest. I have a bad case of tinkeritus and FAFO. I have a second bag in the works, but I’m going to go backwards with this one. Number 2 in the past had some sort of blades, this one will be GI.

And I have a feeling that #2 will end up being #1 pretty quick.

My neighbor has taken up the game, so I gave her an old driver (2014 Big Bertha), a Cleveland Smart Sole S, and a Cobra Amp Cell 7W. All in great shape. She's taking lessons.

I’m free from the shackles😄. I have sold three sets of irons and I had two extra bags. Sold one yesterday and I sell my last extra bag tomorrow.

Whew that was fun and freeing.

Now….. what to do with this cash……

I give or donate a lot of stuff. Sell or trade on occasion.

No longer an equipment hoarder multi state move will change how you look at stuff.

I usually hang on but I will donate stuff to needy golfers

Spare shafts, especially quality, higher end ones....
What to do with them?

Simulator Room wall...not including bags, etc. etc.
