I want the Kings to win the cup but I'd be ok if the Wild won because they're local to me now. I don't think either team stands a chance though.
I'm a diehard Kings' fan. But I'd root for any team playing against the Oilers. I don't hate any Oiler players... it's their fan base. I get along better with Ducks/Sharks fans than them. If it wasn't for McJesus... they'd be still picking number 1s for yeeeears and go nowhere.

My 2 favorite NFL teams are the Texans and whoever is playing the Cowboys

I only root for my teams. Come playoffs I somewhat root for other teams as my teams are not in playoff contention most of the time (Raiders).
I do root against teams as much if not more than I root for teams. (probably a phycological disorder)
I root against the Denver Donkey's and the Los Angeles Fakers every second they play.

Not direct competitors. Aston Villa, Kidderminster Harriers who were my on the doorstep team, and now Monterey Bay FC as my local USL team. If Kiddy or MBFC made it into the premier league however, they’d be dropped like a stone LOL.

Pretty much cheer for only my teams that I follow, the only caveat would be college hockey, I have my #1 and #2.

Wait, it is wrong to cheer for both teams in the same game?

Depends on the sport.

I will have a team in each major conference for most sports. The exception was always hockey. But since my in-laws are Stars fans it’s now true there too.

Basketball I tend to root for my team and then individual players. Like, I enjoy seeing the Warriors win because of Draymond.

As a Warriors fan and Draymond defender I don’t think I’ve ever seen these words uttered.

I’m mostly a pick one team per sport guy. The only one I have more than one is hockey and it’s more so casual. I live and die with the Jackets but I also keep an eye on the Kraken. Mostly because when they formed I just fell in love with their uniforms. I would pick the Jackets 11 times out of 10 if they ever met for the Cup

I'm all in on the Jays, but I support the Reds as Cal's team and local team.
I'm a Leafs fan due to blackout restrictions, but am happy any time Columbus has success.
Bengals fan only.
Cavs fan only.

I think the transplant should always support the local teams unless they are rivals (aka football fan moves from Pitt to Cleveland).

One team.

One team in each sport

I put other. It’s complicated.

I grew up just outside NYC and have always been a diehard Rangers and Jets fan. But I’ve lived near Buffalo for almost 30 years now. I have no problem rooting for the Sabres as long as they’re not playing the Rangers. And even though the Bills and Jets are in the same division there really isn’t any conflict because the Jets are always so Jetsy.

Baseball I root for the Mets only. Basketball I don’t really follow beyond a passing interest in the Knicks. No local competition for my loyalty in either case.

Yes in baseball. I root for the SF Giants and whoever is playing the Dodgers.

I picked other. Typically have my team that I follow during the season then I pick up a team for playoffs if they don’t make it. Football is a little different because I watch a lot of it.
College football Ohio State over everything but my brother has introduced me to Georgia Tech fandom as he lives just outside Atlanta and so I tend to follow them too.
Pro Colts are my team but I find myself rooting for a lot of Ohio State players too. But I also support the Steelers as my dad’s a big fan.

More than one is barbaric.

I like the Bengals in the NFL, but I like the NFL so much I end up liking a one or two other teams each year too. Other sports I just don’t follow that much.

I know. It's a lonely hill I live on. But I became a Warriors fan in 2012 when they drafted Draymond. I got to be a fan of the greatest shooter of all time as an added bonus.

I'm a Packers fan,.but the Lions are so much fun to watch...also, I have to root for my fantasy guys. It's a real burden to bear.

I follow the NFL the most and this is the usual order:
1.chargers
2. Anyone playing the chiefs; broncos, or raiders (if they’re playing each other, I’ll root for whoever’s win would help the chargers the most)
3. Fantasy players. Always kills me when I draft a raider, chief or bronco.

If it helps he is a super nice guy in real life. My dad went to work at fedex store when he retired and draymond game into his store every couple days. Always shook my dad’s hand and made small talk with him. Knew his name. May not seem like much but we have a ton of ex athletes here and the ones that are a**holes are a**holes even when they shouldn’t be in public.

Yeah I found myself in his presence a couple times while he was at State. I didn't go there for school, but spent a lot of time there. He was a freshman my senior year and ended up chatting with him a bit at a party we were both at. And then I went and saw a few games his senior year because my sister was in the athletic training program and again had a couple good convos. He's got the dawg in him, but he's a good dude, even back then.

I’m a one team guy. All in.

I don't think you can truly root for a team if you have more than one team you root for. You only have so much fan interest.

Edit: I think you generally root for your local team as a kid or if your dad does it right, he brainwashed you into being a fan of his teams. Or you can be @bigbov and have no rhyme or reason to the teams you root for.
Thank god I didn't let my dad brainwash me into being an Oakland Raiders fan :ROFLMAO: Naturally I decided to ride or die with the Broncos when they beat the Raiders to go to their first Superbowl. Great memories of going to Shakey's Pizza with my dad in the 1980's to watch the Broncos/Raiders games.

Where is the "two teams in the same conference" option?
