Do you take “gimmies?”

If given a gimme, I take it every time.

Yes. Especially in casual rounds. It speeds up play and it just puts a good mood out there for everyone.
As far as when it does matter, I practice short putts a ton so my hope is the “training” nullifies the missed opportunities not taken in fun rounds.

Also, I’ll NEVER “putt it anyways just for fun” NEVER.

Yeah, I will take a gimme every time. Unless it's for birdie (and not a tap in), I like to put those because they are more rare for me.

I take what is given

I take what is offered to me. If I’m playing alone, I putt everything out.

If someone gives me a putt and I know I have a really high chance of making it - I will absolutely take it.

If not, I will putt it out.

Definitely prefer to putt it out, but if the greens are rolling-rolling and nobody is putting well, I'll take a gimme if I can. Move on, skip a possible 3/4 putt.

Under the Rules, a concession cannot be refused or retracted.

I generally don’t. I need all the putting practice I can get.

Absolutely not if I’m registering the round for handicaps

Only time I accept them is if we’re holding up play. Otherwise, if it’s a friendly and the pace is fine then I’d rather have a crack at it purely for practice. Otherwise you can have a round and miss out on 10 putts. Assuming you miss some of them and have to go again.

Never take gimmies. We always have something on the line with Gross and Net scores, as well as Skins. No gimmies allowed, everything must be putted to the bottom of the cup.

I've never been a gimme fan...always thought of them as a crutch for crappy putters. I putt everything out when playing solo which is most of the time; there's something about hearing & seeing the ball fall into the cup. When paired with someone I'll accept a gimme but still quickly putt it most times.

I'll take every gimme given to me. There are sometimes I will putt everything out just to see how bad at putting I am.

I go with the flow of the group. Since I am usually a single being paired with others, I am always watching for the style of any pairing...flag in or out? sometimes in, sometimes out? Honors? honors only if bridie or better? gimmes?

I prefer not to have others take them for me...I know what is and what is not a gimme for me, and I know when there is a more difficult than usual putt...not all 2' putts are created equal...so particularly when feeling spry, I prefer to putt it out. However, with that said, if the group is the "oh, he chipped it to 2', send it back to him" I accept the compliment, mark the added stroke and move on.

I struggled with back issues for a few years after an auto accident and if the ball was an actual tap-in...not a 3'er, an actual tap in,....I scoop with no hesitation.

With that said, if I am in a group that is liberally giving them, I am not going to spoil the mood so I go along with it. As someone mentioned above, I know my putting ability, I include the most likely score and move on with life.

I usually will take it unless I have a league event or tournament coming up where it might be tougher or not allowed. Also never take a birdie gimme.

Absolutely do, 99% of the time. That 1% I make myself putt them out

If I'm playing in a match play format and my opponent says "that's good" then I pick it up. Otherwise we putt everything out.

Yeah. I mean sometimes it’s enough already.

On my own I putt everything out
On a general play round I'm putting in to England Gold for my (WHS) handicap I putt everything out
In stroke play or stable ford competitions I putt everything out

In match-play I'll take gimmes.
In casual rounds with friends I'll take a gimme if it is knocked back to me, but I'd rather putt out - I'll take all the on course practice/pressure I can get.

When a putt In Match Play of course. Any other time it doesn't really apply in my situation. I don't play money games and a rando doesn't affect whether I pick up a one footer or not.

Like a lot of people, I play in league where we have to putt everything out.

But in casual rounds – even with guys in the league, it’s common to give a gimme if it’s within the leather.

The only time I have turned them down is times where I know I need to work on the short ones for league play.

But then I usually tell people the reason, and they are totally fine with it.

I do try to be cognizant of pace of play though. You don’t wanna be the guy holding up the group because you wanna practice those two footers like you are going to Augusta next week.

If given then yes I do.
By myself I typically don’t unless it’s literally a tap in.
