I like to talk leading up to the round more than on the course. Talking beforehand leads to an exciting round and anticipation. Talking too much during the round and I just come off as a Richard. At least beforehand, I can throw in a

Well, I did yesterday for 9 holes. The guy deserved it.

The fact I was golfing solo, wasn't a big deal.
