Does how far someone else hits the golf ball bother you?

At my Age, heck No. I honestly praise them. Then commence to saying, "Best Ball today, right? "
I was gonna say. If it bothered you any of the times we been out you don’t show it lol. Your course management tends to be better than mine I think though. I need to work on that lol

No, but I will say there was a time where distance due to ball flight (draw v fade) was a real negative influence on my swing

Bother me? No....Made me go a little top hard at one here and there? Yes...Definitely has happened before to me

My goodness if this was the case I wouldn’t have any friends to play golf with. There are a few who I get jealous of for sure!

I always watch professional sports because I enjoy being bothered by what I can’t do.

I'll have to remember to complain more, sympathy always helps...gets in their heads. 😀

You know @E.Appleton @JAyer38 had discussion kind of like this Saturday. Some of us have experienced significant distances changes for various reasons and we discussed the positive and negative. LIke suddenly nuking a club 20,30, etc yards farther is great and all but not if it’s like say an iron and you hit a club and it flies 25 yards over the green as the distance you use to hit has completely changed now and you don’t know the flight anymore. Like great you smoked it but you just smoked it to oblivion. Apple and I both tried to smoke a few drives with less then desireable results and both of us were looking at each other Swing Easy Stupid (SES) as both could take something off and get into a good place instead of trying to take the paint off lol.

At tournaments I’m not always the longest drive. But let’s see if that person can hit that awkward 3/4 pitch in while I get a nice easy full swing. If there’s one thing golf has shown yes distance is great to have but it’s not everything. Even if you blast it a mile by everyone that doesn’t mean you'll score better.

Nope just worry about my own game.

Only bothers me when you have to give 5 shots and 35 years to said person at MC

It can but only with irons for some reason. Friends hitting a shorter iron into par 3's makes me question why I am not hitting my iron that far, even though I know they are playing a different iron that has different stats than what I play and was fitted for them, not me.

Oddly if someone can pipe a driver 300+, I don't get jealous, I just enjoy seeing someone hit it that far.

Nope, never has. I was never a long hitter but I could score better than alot of them! :)

I always have friends and golf buddies that hit it alot farther than me. A few guys were like two clubs longer so driver was about 30-40 yards longer than me.

Only if I'm drunk and trying to swing out my a$$. Otherwise, I know what I hit off the tee, so no reason to chase.

Negative.
Play your game and have fun.

Not any more. I used to try to give it a little extra to try to close the gap but that was usually met with less than desirable results. Learned to play within myself and lean on my short game to score.

No. I just enjoy watching those big hitters.

It bothered me a little today, when 3 of the 4 jackasses in front of us were playing from the blues and couldn't even reach the fairway most of the time. And even worse was when they'd hit 110 yard tee shots and then wait for the green to clear from 260 out. :ROFLMAO: They were keeping up, only because the pace of play was so slow today, but I doubt any of them shot under 110.

I enjoy watching people smash the heck out of a golf ball.

You should have bet them that they couldn't get within 50 yards of the green from 260 out. Sounds like you would have made a little money off of them.

I admire it…..but at the same I also wish it was me hitting bombs, and the other guys were watching. I mean, I can almost hear my ball land these days.

I think this pretty much sums it up....
I believe if a good player hits it farther and it is accurate it can start to get in a players head but at the same time you have to play your own game and not someone else's. If you want to hit it farther figure out how to do that be it the gym, mobility, or a fitting/club.

I personally play a 5 hybrid vs a 5 iron because 9/10 times I'm my distance/dispersion is better and while I'm in fine shape for a 5 iron the hybrid just fits my game better.

As I've learned over the last 2 months with my handicap going from a 20 to a 23, accuracy is better than distance any day! Penalties cause the biggest scores so just advancing the ball accurately is better than being a big hitter and not knowing direction or distance.

Nope. As a short hitter I enjoy watching guys launch bombs.
Although it gets old when my son comments, “They’re building a new Walmart between our landing spots.”

Bother me??? No. not at all.
