All of the details of the new Wilson Staff D7 Forged irons are on the home page here.

Love the looks of these! Are these the C300 Forged replacement since they seem to have similar size and targeted market or will there come out an updated C300 set?

I dig the looks of these quite a bit. Interesting to see them move the price point up like that. Feels like they’re more in line with the rest of the market. I wonder if that’s a marketing move or a cost of materials move.

Hard to say replacement, since both can still be had, but I would say the target golfer is the same, yes.

Kind of crazy to wake up early for a club review. But I did and it was very well written. I love the look of the club. It looks like a players club. Price point jumped but perhaps Wilson has damaged itself in the past by trying to appeal to a certain price point versus letting the club sell itself and its own value. I’m anxious to hit this one. Again, great words and pictures

When the C300 Forged irons came out, they were $899 and $999 depending on shaft choice, so the price isn't much of a jump, no?

Sure, but on Wilsons homepage both the C300 and the C300 Forged has been out of stock for a while and all retailers have had them at a reduced price to try and sell them out. So unless there comes a C400 set this year i would call these the C300 Forged replacer. Luckily (and unluckily) where i live there is still months left until golf season again so i can just wait and see what comes out until then.

Can't disagree on JB's thought on price increase. Has the tension in regard to the potential tariff increases with China caused companies to raise prices in anticipation of the hikes. I have a brand I rep for who raised shoe prices $3.00 at wholesale before anything even happened.

Those look great!! I hope that Wilson sells a ton of these. JB, do you know how Wilson golf is doing overall and if they are gaining market share in woods and irons?

I was thinking the D series was closer to $600or $700, but these aren’t really hitting the same target so it makes sense.

A really solid looking iron. Never been a huge fan of "Power Holes" but they are proven tech. Feels like a sleeper choice that can garner some traction. Now, the question becomes can W/S bring out a D7 Forged driver, fairway, and hybrid that can compete with the top OEMs and round out your W/S bag?

According to the company D7 has been a success for them, so doubling down on it with a new release and leaving by the way side the F,C,D side of things makes a lot of sense in my opinion. While I won't be the person that says they are a direct replacement, its a logical step to head towards that as an evolution.

Can you explain the second part? They have a D7 metal woods line already.

Nice review.

Classy looking irons: no colours, just silver and black. Really nice contrasts! And it’s such a small thing, but I quite like the font chosen for the club numbers.

Good shaft options. I’d definitely go with the Catalyst’s.

I will be interested to see how these compete with other sets priced at $999

I will say they are absolutely gorgeous, would be interested to hear the sound with all of those injections and holes in the iron

Great article

The D7 woods lineup seemed like they were marketed as a lightweight distance budget friendly option. I'm not sure that they offer what someone looking at the D7 Forged irons wants in the top end of the bag! To me D7 replaced the D300 series and D7 Forged will attract the C300 crowd.

Currently the D7 series will remain in tact with the addition of this new iron to the lineup.
This will give Wilson two drivers in play with D7 and Launch Pad.

Well done @Molten

They look better than I expected honestly, still not sure why they broke their own embargo on social but maybe that’s the new trend?

These look really good to me, and I think going with this profile iron in the “D” series name is a good idea, especially since it lines up with one set of woods. Almost feels like going the route Mizuno has historically taken with the JPX line, with the standard and pro.

I am curious if they will release a smoke/gun metal version? I don’t remember what W/S calls it.

Looks like Chicago has some solid awesome designers between Wilson’s irons and the Exotic’s woods. Now I know what they do during those long cold snowy winter months. Build clubs!

I get what J.B.Cobb is alluding to on the driver. I guess there’s always Cortex at $199. There are a ton of them around.
Still these are great looking irons that would blend with the new Utility and the Staff wedges. Solid lineup

It looks really good. Wilson has been laying out some nice looking irons lately. I am not really sure I need more distance but I would be willing to give them a try.

These are replacing the C300 for sure, the common complaints for the C300 was the hard feel in general, acoustics etc. These appear to have eliminated those bad points. I currently game the D7 Irons (cavity/game improver) but I'm feeling confident enough to step up to a more muscle back/forged approach ... I will see how I get on.
