Fly Fishing
I lived to fly-fish before I discovered golf. Good lord do I miss it. I'm from the driftless area of Wisconsin some of the best trout water anywhere.

Nice around there. We usually get over there during our stay in Salida areaLake City, CO.
They are spawning now so colors are really nice
My first rod was a white river kit from Bass Pro/CaBellas and it served me really well. It’s still my preferred rod for small, tight water streams comapared to some of the “nicer” combos I haveGoing to try and get into this more. Anyone do this or have suggestions on starter reel/rod? Leaning towards the Redington field kit for trout.
That sounds like a fantastic dayWent up to the mountains yesterday, slept in my SUV and got up about 5:30 this morning and fished a creek I have never been to. Caught a bunch of small browns that I put back and caught some rainbows to bring home for dinner.
It was a great day...but boy, I am sore. It was a lot of work in the small creek. Probably 4-5 miles of walking.
How close is that to Granby?Lake City, CO.
Looks to be about 5 hours south. It is about 1 hr drive time from Gunnison south west. How close is that to Granby?
I’m not sure about the venture pack and who makes it but any of those options should do you well as you look to get into the sport.OK, got to get a new rod and reel. Been looking at the TFO NXT Black, Reddington Field Trout, Orvis Encounter/clearwater, and saw a Venture pack. Anyone have any thoughts on these? Trying not to go wal mart cheap but not expensive either till I get really into it.
I always have recommended Sage because they hooked me up with their warranty in a big way. That was a long time ago though.OK, got to get a new rod and reel.
