Good lord. Other than the climate, I'm not sure why anyone would want to live in CA.

Kinda weird how it's cheapest on the east coast and gradually gets more expensive the further west you go.

I know CA has a TON of gas taxes and they have "special gas" that is formulated for CA, which they switch out of during the winter months, which makes the refineries switch over 2x per year, which doesn't help things.

Jumped up this week 3.19

2.59 at Sam’s Club hoping it holds through tomorrow

$2.90 at Utica by the interstate 90 exit for regular. My car runs on 91, and I paid $4.06 yesterday for premium.

CA has also created a regulatory environment that has resulted in refinery closures and carbon emissions programs affecting the price of gasoline. Their governor has just recently started to moderate his message slightly as prices continue to rise. Washington instituted a cap and trade carbon program that adds somewhere between $0.50 to over $1.00, depending on results of the carbon credit auctions. Since they are worried about falling revenue from more EVs on the road they are looking into how to tax EVs by miles driven.
