Gear thoughts from today’s return to the game

A few observations from today’s return after 1.5 years.

Driver: I had some time with the GT3 before my surgery. It’s still holding up as a great driver. No need to consider anything else.

Mini driver: the GT 280 didn’t get a lot of use today, but it did well.

5w: GT2 is for real. Love it.
7w: this needs more time. And I have to swingweight it. It feels light. Was hard for me to control.

Epic Pro irons and Recoil 660 ES shafts: early promise. Some really quality shots.

T24 wedges continue to impress.

Scotty Fastback OC is gonna be in the bag for a long time. Always hit it where I wanted. If only it could fix green reading !!

REVL Comfort midsize: had them on my irons. They are going on the rest of my clubs asap.

‘26 Chrome Tour: gonna be a fun summer with these.

Puma Alphacat Nitro: I was worried about these being stiff out of the box. But they were far from it very comfortable great traction and stability.

Not sold on the Elyte 7w. Would still like to try the GT2 7w.

Update: the Elyte 7w didn’t get any more time. It went back to PGATSS under our playability guarantee for full store credit. Now to figure out what to do in that slot. A Maltby HyWay 21* will get another audition.

Concur about the Alphacat Nitros... thought the same thing but they were good...the Avants are more comfortable to me but I was happy with the AC Nitros for $55.
