Getting older, terrified of losing the ability to play golf.

67 in October w/ psoriatic arthritis.
Rx helps but also went with mid size grips last year. That made a difference with hand pain. I also see a chiropractor as needed. This year I'm considering a personal trainer to help with flexibility because last summer I pulled a muscle in my back getting out of a chair too fast. Are you kidding me?

This getting old crap is no joke.

I am 74 and and had shoulder reconstruction 6 years ago and will have knee replacement surgery April 2.My first question to the surgeon was how soon can I play golf again? Golf is my only hobby ,well a little firearm shooting, and I know I will miss it when I can't do it. I hope the new knee helps as much in my life as a lot of people says it does.

Is it not a surprise how "out of shape" we get with a few years of retirement! I know it has not been that long(April 25), and my waistline is larger, and my energy is slightly waning. I did not expect that! So, I guess when we stop our everyday routine, it sure makes a difference in our bodies!! I need to move more! I will start with walking! Looking for a pool close by the house. Swimming is low impact on the body, but can make a big difference in overall body shape and health.. Been looking at Tai Chi, but have not made a decision yet, if I will do it with a YouTube video series, or sign up somewhere. But for sure, I do need to move more. Can't wait for golf to get off the ground here! Stupid weather...

I was playing 8 weeks after my TKR but it was my right knee . Did my exercises 4 days a week and PT twice.

Getting old sucks. I don't think many disagree. However, as I have progressed into my 50's and as things have started to break down, I have found myself thinking about how much golf I have left and what I would do without it. Golf isn't just a game. It is camaraderie, my therapy, and quite frankly what I look forward to all week.
I try to keep it positive and make sure I enjoy every round but lately I have been developing arthritis in my hands and my golf mortality seems to always be on my mind.
Anybody else feel this sense of dread about the upcoming last round ( hopefully years from now 🤣)
Also, anybody dealing with rheumatoid arthritis in their hands and therapeutics?
Wow in my 50s I still thought I was bullet proof 😂 but at 69 a treatment injury surgeon had a bad day and I spent 5weeks in a Coma 3 months in hospital, lost 33kg and had to learn to walk and 6+ years later I'm still struggling to play 9holes but practice 2-3 times per week. My best has me at 75 y/o hitting 3wood 183metres an driver 220metres and I had a hole in one 93metres 6/3/26 miracles happen 😎
