Kinda thing. Attaches to a 48” aluminum ruler. I’ve got it on a drywall square right now. It’s pretty dang slick. Not sure about the swingweight guess part.

I've used the same one. For a a little over 2 years now and really like it alot. Best measurement tool I've used. And I've only tested one club, but the SW measurement using the Hireko estimator is within 0.1 to 0.2 points of my Mitchell gauge. More than adequate for the home builder.

You measure to where it's soled. It's much easier to do with a club ruler though. And some companies measure without the grip cap which adds about 1/8".

Yes, I sole the club in the guide, that is its purpose. With a club ruler you have to always have the same angle. This lays on the bench and you sole it the same each time. Very easy to use.

Also, with grip or with out, that's a preference issue. When building you can do it either way, its your preference.
