I'm about to start to spend quite a bit of time in Tyler with two different projects; one at Tyler Junior College and the other at UT Tyler.

For some trips I'll need to fly in on Sundays for Monday meetings. On those weeks my plan is to bring my clubs and play some golf.

I know there are some THPers in that area and I'd like some insight into the courses in the area, especially Cascades as my club has play-away privileges with that club.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hey Mary! Tyler is about an hour from Dallas so if you ever make it into the metroplex let us know. I know there are a few guys playing out that way but I don't recall who they are.

Slodsm plays in Tyler.

Garden Valley (Between Van and Lindale), Hideaway(Lindale)( if you can find someone who lives there), Twin Lakes (Canton), Pine Dunes (Frankston), These are some nice courses around the Tyler area.

Thanks Cookie! Depending on flight times/costs Dallas is likely (even if DFW/American and I have had a hate-hate relationship for the last 30yrs). So when that happens I'll definitely hit you and the DFW THPers up for a round.

Garden Valley for sure.

If you get the chance, make the drive to Canton and play at Twin Lakes. This course has always been considered on of the best in the area, if not the state. They have been working on some course improvements over the summer and have really raised the bar.

It's about an hour drive from the airport in Tyler to the course. You might be able to convince some of the DFW people to meet you there.

I wish I could give you some more input on the courses in Tyler but I haven't played many of them.
