Golf Movie Required Viewing

There’s always a love/hate with Caddyshack.

How is a 28 year old movie not on any of the streaming services?

Sure glad I pay for almost all of them. 🙄

I’m not paying $3.99 to ‘rent’ Tin Cup.

Dead Solid Perfect

How are you the only person to have this one listed? Absolutely a forgotten golf movie.

For newer golf movies, The Long Game is worth a watch

Always ways to find things...it's the internet lol

Another vote for Dead Solid Perfect. It comes from a different time and may not appeal to the youngs.

Loopers is another good one.

+1 for Loopers - very cool movie. Love all that have been listed here tbh

St Andrews from Golf Films, while not a movie, gives me the chills whenever I watch it

I will second Phantom of the Open. It's a delight.

My list that will (have) watched multiple times and will continue to watch. My order from favourite on down.

The Greatest Game Ever Played
Tin Cup
Legend of Bagger Vance
Happy Gilmore

Here is my list.

1. The Greatest Game
2. A stroke of Genius
3. The Legend of Bagger Vance
4. Happy Gilmore
5. Seve the Movie

Tin Cup is ok, but I think it is weird that the name of a golf movie has nothing to do with golf.. Writer error there. Caddy Shack is fun but I am not sure I call it a great golf movie.
I mean at least they didn’t call it Clank.

For me it's "The Greatest Game Ever Played". At that time, golf was played by the "upper class". For a low/middle class guy to beat the greatest two golfers at that time was a definite "truth is stranger than fiction" event.

I agree with most of the lists here, but if we're going down the route of Die Hard is a golf movie can't we agree that Space Jam is also a golf movie?

Fun fact---That movie was filmed at the Kanawaki Golf Club in Montreal. It's a very well known club around here right off the island, and generally has a lot of very good players. We play against them regularly in interclub events, i've probably played there 15-20 times

You do get around Jeff, lol.

In my younger days lol....I actually came very close to joining there. They are also one of 4 clubs that hosts a major mid-am tourney

Tin Cup
Legend of Bagger Vance
Caddyshack (more for the ridiculous than the storyline)
The Greatest Game Ever Played
Happy Gilmore
Seven Days In Utopia
Seven Days in Utopia was a random watch for me. I was surprised how much I enjoyed that one.

Loopers: The Caddie's Long Walk was pretty enjoyable..... 🤷‍♂️
