Hello!

I have been looking for a reliable net to use for contact practice at home, but every one that I've looked at seems to always have some crucial problem like the netting ripping after a few swings or the overall durability being poor. I'm not looking to spend a ridiculous amount of money either, but if anyone has any "golf net" options or homemade options, let me know!

Thanks.

This is the one I used for years. It was kept outside and I never had an issue with it. it was also easy to break down when I needed to.

I bought the Amazon basics one on Black Friday and it’s held up to a lot of shots so far.

If you have a local military surplus store near by, they will have what you are probably looking for. Probably save yourself a few bucks too.

You can build your own size, custom to your likes frame out of pvc, or metal conduit pipe. I used metal 1/2" electric conduit, as a ball can break pvc easily.

As with any netting used, hang a large towel over the ball contact area. This will extend the life of the netting.

I’ve have the Go Pro Sports net for two years now and it works great. I do have th reinforcement net you can purchase along side it and their mat. It’s held up great with two people hitting into during that time but is also kept indoors.

I’ve got the Spornia SPG 7 and I can’t recommend it highly enough. It’s clamshell design makes it very easy to set up, much easier than traditional pole and net types. It’s a little tricky to fold it back up, but with a little practice it takes just a couple of minutes. Very durable. I don’t have pro level ball speeded but after 2 years, except for some fading by the sun, it’s still in great shape. It’s not the cheapest net on the market but far from the most expensive either. I’ve got another net with the metal frame that I’ll never use again as long as I have the Spornia

I came here to recommend this as well. It’s been great for the 1.5yr or so of having it. Highly recommend!

I went cheap but it's far exceeded my expectations. Actually, on the day of purchase I also bought extra netting from another vendor anticipating the need to double up. Two years later, there hasn't been the need. The extra netting is still in its original packaging.

My net is outside year round but on our basement patio, covered by the screened porch above.

See I'm OLD and don't mind 155 7i due to feel and look along with outstanding versatility.....I had the P760 just before the T100 non S and the T100 is just better through the turf and the looks.....oh well can't win them all.

Agree with this. It has been good for us. You do need to stake it down though, a calm breeze will collapse it if it is not staked down. Also had to replace the pole set one year later.

I also have the Net Return system. Picked it up around beginning of Covid to help with home practice since many courses were closed here. It is more expensive that other nets I looked at, but it has worked out really well so far.

I had a Spornia for awhile and was really happy with it

My recommendation is stay as far away as you can. I had a net set up one winter and completely ruined my swing with it. I'm sure they work great for a lot of people, but not me.

I am not a power hitter by any means - but I did use a net about 3 times a week or more, for about 3 months - say 50 balls a session with out issue when I took it down it looked new. This one. Rukket Sports Haack Golf Net | Dick's Sporting Goods (dickssportinggoods.com)

I did hit over it and broke the ceiling, a light fixture and a wall - on a total of 3 shots - left very nearly imperceptible marks on a wall on some light chips. So either move the mat closer or get the next level up that had an upper part to protect against these shots.

This was a great budget net - still have it and it's packed away will be set up in the garage.

If you have additional cash - I would do the net return - had that for my kid - and it was just superb 0-- no issues of any kind, ever.

Not sure if still avail , but I have had this since 1999Screenshot_20220718-112415_eBay.jpg

I have had this Rukket for several years. And had some similar results.

Thanks Adrenaline1!

I have the Spornia SPG 8 and love mine, thanks for the replace pole set advice, I may want to grab a set in case mine has the same fate! I learned my lesson long ago to get key replacement parts as products do get discontinued and finding after can be impossible or very expensive!

+1 Haack net. It's also easy to take down in a relative hurry. I use mine on my back patio and take it down during protracted rain. I left it out too much in the rain and its getting tattered around the edges. A replacement net is $50.

Looks like a few reviews have concern for the net being thin and getting holes. Otherwise looks very nice. Also how is it in a little standard wind?

Yeah my Dad has hit a handful of balls though his net over the years. Just to be safe, definitely do not have anything behind the net that could break. It handles the wind pretty well. It comes with stakes to stake it down so it doesn't move.

Personally would recommend the Rukket SPDR net. Net replacements are relatively cheap and on my 3rd net after 25,000 shots on the first 2.
