What are you using these days?

Any strong likes or dislikes?

I like the sunbum stick for the face and ears...easy to apply and if I need to add more during the round I don't become a sticky mess

Following as I need some as well. But with an additional question, what have you found that does not cause a reaction?
When I use sunscreen, (mainly on my forearms), I get some sort of reaction that that causes itching for several days, sometimes weeks.

As a person with a bald head, I'm taking interest in this post.
I'm not normally a hat wearer, so sunscreen is a must.

Played 18 on Monday and torched my head, first time out this season.

That's the actual worst. Been there too. It's not pretty or comfortable!

Interested in this. I’d like some good options that can be applied like deodorant

Blue Lizard gets great reviews online.

A stick would would great to apply it to my head, sprays seem to go everywhere.

That’s my go to. Washes easy and excellent protection. It does leave a bit of a white residue so if that’s off putting to you might avoid it. Otherwise the cleanest I can find

Interested in this. I like the convenience of a spray, but it always feels a little gritty when I rub it in.

I keep a Blue Lizard stick in the bag. Easy to apply to difficult areas like ears and less messy than spray.

Costco had this deal.....less greasy than most sunscreen

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch SPF 70 Sunscreen

My wife buys it in two-packs, one is bigger than the other. I apply it to my face and ears while getting ready to go play, just once. I keep the small tube in my bag incase I forgot to apply it before leaving the house. It works very well, I'm very happy with it. On the rare occasion that I forget to use it I come home red in the face and ears burned.

The product I used before is the Banana Boat Sunscreen. There is a post here on THP somewhere about Banana Boat, and how it doubles as a bug repellant. I have a can of this in my bag too.

I hate the feeling of sunscreen, so I wear sun sleeves to cover my arms. Like someone else mentioned, I like to use a sunscreen stick for spots leftover like the back of my hands or neck. That way I don’t have to touch anything. I think the one I have in my bag is a Neutrogena stick that looks similar to deodorant.

Overall use

For on course application to arms and legs.

I loathe a spray.

@CBaker turned me onto Sun Bum. it smells like bananas and it feels like greasy than other sprays.
As someone who has a lack of follicles sunscreen is important to my dome. Sun bum is the only thing I trust after I used it in Hawaii to save my life haha

I have a tube of Cancer Council that I apply for the body. And a different one for the face.

I'm also using arm sleeves this season because they supposedly have a 'cooling affect' and I can spend less time / money on sunscreen for my arms.

Sunscreen is one of the least cost effective products per oz. in the world. I think I read that somewhere.

For the face and neck my daily face lotion has spf in it. Right now I’m testing a CeraVe with spf 30. When that bottle is empty I have a cetaphil with spf 35 to tryout.

For arms and legs I’m a spray sunscreen person. Not actually picky about brand. End up with whichever one is on sale at Costco. Which is usually banana boat.

Over the winter I bought a cart bag and didn’t think to load the ziplock bag with a bottle of sunscreen and bug repellent. So got a little too much sun on the arms and legs.

Same here. Hats give me a rash that burns like crazy

I put a huge coating of this before the round image.jpg

A couple times during the rounds I spray with this image.jpg

Do the sticks melt at all of you keep them in your bag?
That's the problem with them on course. I do my best to remember to stick a small refreezable ice pak in the pocket with them. And keep them in a ziploc in case you forget to or don't take the clubs out of your vehicle.

I have used this for a few years, but when I was at Briggs Ranch, I didn't have sunblock in my bag and they had the Oars+Alps brand in the locker room that I really, really liked (more than the Neutrogena) and have since ordered this one (and it doesn't take much either):

I’ve always just used the Walmart brand Equate, as it usually comes out near the top in the consumer reports testing. Recently switched to HEB brand but will be following this thread for ideas.

I used nutragina 70 spray for arms and legs.

I’m still trying to find something I like for face and neck. Dealing with a beard poses challenges. Everyone hates sunscreen in the eyes.

I’ve gone to physical barriers. Stupid wide brim hat. And sun sleeves. Currently on the lookout for a ultralight weight sun hoodie.

I put this on my face, arms, neck, and chest where my polo is open. Then I use spray for the rest of me. If I'm riding in a cart I'll put that lotion on my thigh above my knee, because it's exposed more when I'm sitting down.
