He did put my evaluation onto the app. I will say two things:
1) got home and realized that I had a family conflict for my scheduled lesson on Friday and it was easy to change it through the app without calling him and telling him why.
2) the difference between a bad swing and good swing can be finite. Literally, when I look at the video with a blind eye between before and after, they look almost the same without optimotion lines. The difference in ball flight was straighter and more distance in the after swing. I don’t hit it long, but I was hitting it much shorter in the before swing that looked similar.

I am going to share some photos from the app so that you know what kind of feedback that you get. This was only from the $95 evaluation. Even if you want to dig it out of the dirt on your own, the evaluation is still gold. These screenshots are from the app on my phone showing the different tabs from my 10 minute lesson. Of course, there is video on my app, but just wanted you to get the gist of it.

That freaking noodle…
That backswing hand path drill is the same as one of the ones i was given. I still have a ways to go, but it has been super helpful for me. Hope it works for you.

If it is any consolation, i was given 4 drills to your one. So i am way more messed up than you 😂

Quick question, with a very long setup:

I’m just coming back to golf after about five years off due to injuries. It was a pretty dark and depressing time. I couldn’t even watch golf without getting emotional.

I decided to come back once I realized I could hold a club again using larger Jumbomax grips. Because of the injuries, though, I’ve had to completely retool my swing this year. The focus has been getting into positions that avoid pain and relying much less on hand-eye coordination and more on grooving a repeatable, solid swing. I’ve only played five rounds since coming back, but I finally got back into the 70s in my last round.

I have a few GOLFTEC locations near me, and the closest one has a pretty solid instructor. I’m planning to do the $95 swing evaluation soon before it expires.

So, to the question. Since I’ve played with you in the past, respect your game, and know you liked finding your game in the dirt the way I did, do you think the tech they use is a good resource for getting my game from a 4 to scratch? I’ll be honest, I need another set of eyes beyond SportsBox AI. Specifically, someone who can help me get where I want to go faster, without trying to force me into a stock swing model that my injuries just won’t allow.

Appreciate your thoughts.
I do think the tech is a good resource. Using the practice sessions with video is helpful as well as being able to review parts of your lesson on the app. That being said I'm at the same level as you with the same goals. My coach and I are working on the why things happen so I can understand so its a lot of face/patch control, feeling and seeing where certain positions are. We aren't trying to reinvent my swing but that is going to be coach dependent.

Several people have mentioned at this low of a handicap its not often the swing that is the problem is short game and putting that will be the difference between a 4 and scratch.

Agree on the short game part, that's currently the only thing that is saving my rounds while getting back.

I like how you phrased that "why things happen". That is 90% of what I'm looking for and having someone as a sounding board to get me out of my headspace may be good. I'm going to book the evaluation today, I'll post up how it goes. Thank you for the feedback, and all the good 2025 write ups from THP'ers, was a fun article.

Its all going to be dependent on your coach. I'd be upfront and see if you gel with him.

Got out and played today. Unfortunately the move we worked on didn’t translate to the course. I was definitely shallower and had the feel of reaching behind be, but that meant I was swinging extremely in to out. I wasn’t matching the club face well so I had some big left and big right misses.

On a positive note, the putter fitting and lesson continues to pay off. I made 3 putts outside 28ft today and left myself lots of easy tap ins. 27 putts on the day was insane.

I booked a practice session for Monday & Wednesday both to get working on the new swing feel, path, and face.

Change is hard. You'll get there yo! Glad the putter fitting and lesson has helped. That's pretty awesome!! Keep up the good work!!

swing therapy session coming up this morning.

I need a new 'click' because my sim rounds yesterday felt annoyingly close while being on the edge of disaster lmao

I practiced in my garage yesterday and it was very evident how spoiled I am by going to golftec for most of my practice. The video is absolutely key to understanding what is going on with a swing. I tried to video myself with my phone, but it's nowhere near as helpful as having 2 views in frame by frame slow mo. Also, I am SORE today in the shoulders which tells me hitting out of the more rough like portion of the mat has been much better on my joints than a normal mat even a decent one.

Also look forward to talking with my guy Andrew who is the manager at the practice location to find out what new new they have in and what they are getting in. Hopefully some lefty 3dps

I have only had the 10 minute lesson from the evaluation, but was happy with the results of my good shots yesterday. Unfortunately, I didn’t score well and was inconsistent. I know that the lessons are going to help me, but it isn’t like a 10 minute lesson will necessarily lead to a lower score 48 hours later.

I am still replaying a 6i from the bunker that I flushed to 4 feet. I am trying not to remember missing the putt.

Can a peak number describe a GolfTEC lesson?

I’ll attempt it. 168.

All kidding aside,

Love this new development for you. Can't wait to hear the details on how you're improving.

that is correct.

Best ball speed number I’ve seen in ages.

More on this later.
thats some serious speed. Look at you being all awesome and stuff again

Dude! Impressive. Look forward to hearing more about it.

I wish I had one of those new Callaway balls in my bag to get over 170 lmao

I have my next lesson next week. I would probably throw my back out getting to 168. 😄

It's pretty ironic we are talking ball speed in here today. Just got back from a lesson and today we worked on speed with driver, where we top out at and how we can get more. Honestly the results were pretty nuts. I'll be back in here after dinner.
