I remember watching the 2012 British Open in which Tom Watson almost won the whole shooting match. There was an interview he did where Watson was asked how he knew when he was going to have a good round. Watson's reply was to the effect that if he felt he had a good tempo in his swing he would have a great round of golf. Over the years since I heard him say that I've noticed that if my swing feels good I usually shoot well. Any thoughts from you THPers out there on this?

Tempo is huge for me. I usually try to have a song going through my head that I swing to. A couple that work for me are Brandy from back in the 70s and Hold my Hand by Hottie and the Blowfish. Find something that resonates with you and try to keep it running through your head during the round.
