Appreciate your thoughts my friend 👊 . I'm probably in trouble any which way :ROFLMAO:.
I have faith in you! You can gain a lot of strokes around the green, especially if you miss where you’re supposed to

honestly.. Taking trouble out of play and planning for a 3 shot hole is not a bad play.. 5 iron, 5 iron and a little wedge in may seem cowardly but if you win the hole so what.
This is absolutely the right way to think about GrayBull, especially if that wedge is actually a sawed off 9i that runs up to the pin.

Sure, if you have confidence in that as your fairway finding club. All else being equal if I am hit a piss poor tee shot, I will take the distance with my driver rather than a crummy tee shot with hybrid/ 5i and then pick up the pieces from there.

If the wind was howling this hole would probably play so tough. That green is NOT a for sure 2-putt for me 😂

Ooo ... sucker pin on the right. Don't fan open the blade & leak it

Man the contours of the green are going to make that a tough putt if you're not in the right area.

The wind can create some havoc off the tee here, and you do not want to be in one of those bunkers or you are most likely losing the hole. The biggest thing here to me is keeping it in play off the tee and manages your miss on the approach. If you are a fader, and by that I mean slicer of the golf ball, this hole is going to eat your lunch, I promise.
You just have to play smart and know when/where to take your medicine.

Id say it’s about discipline more than anything else.

My biggest takeaway from playing Graybull is if you keep the ball on the mown areas there are good opportunities to score well even with crazy wind and big green complexes. I played a lot of shots overly aggressive and unnecessary brought the un-mowed areas into play and made big numbers in those cases. Overall the fairways are on the wide side and off the tee you don’t really need to bring a lot of risk into play.

We are now at hole 2 and the first par 5 on the course. What a fantastic looking hole!! The green grass framed by the prairie lands just off the hole create an amazing contrast. You will enjoy this hole. Unless you get wide or the wind blows you to OZ.

While this hole is not overly long for a par 5 the prevailing wind will be blowing straight across the fairway. The landing zone does provide some width for a little forgiveness of the tee. ButQ don't let the trick you into thinking it is an easy tee shot or hole. The wind can be fierce and a weak drive can get eatin up by the wind. If you get out to the prairie grass you will be crying for Aunty Em before the hole is over, clicking you heels and saying "there is no place like home"..

What length tees do they play on THP Experiences? Blacks, one set forward, two? Just curious. As far as windy courses go, I've found 5w to be quite useless into the wind. A nice 3 iron tends to go even further with that lower trajectory... except for downwind. That's just fun with a high launching wood.

Keep it middle left, stay below the wind and it will runnnnnnn
