It was certainly funny.

The starter at my course passed away last year - 92 year old chain smoking SOB with an oxygen tank (man I miss Jack!). But he was the complete opposite always given the hot dogs crap that insisted on playing from the tips (7100 yards) that should be playing from the 6200 yard tees. It was always comic gold to watch.

I've had my fair share of run ins with starters, don't they know I'm a nice guy! But if there was ever a starter like that at a course I was playing, I'd be walking back to the pro shop and demanding a refund.
