Anything under a 7i for me is good. I can hit a nice partial 9i and wedge as well.

We have two par 3's, one wildly uphill and the other wildly downhill that throw firs timers into fits. One is 145 yards but plays like 165. The other is 145 that can play as short as 110 downhill.

Also enjoy 220 range at time when stakes are high as it brings out the best in folks. However, put me down for bogey mostly. Hahah.

Short par 3s mess with my head, think in the 130-140 range. Easy wedge shot and I make it difficult.

I love the variety so it's hard for me to pick a specific club or distance. Short and tight, or long with room to miss. One of my favorite feelings in golf is hitting a GIR with hybrid or wood.

130 yards or an 8i would probably provide the best chance for a HIO. Came inches from that this year.

Today I played a course with back to back par 3s. First played 130 the second played 215 into wind.

I was way more comfortable with the first.

Sweet spot…150 ish. This lets me be more fair to myself on proximity. Shorter i expect too much from myself. Over 175 then it starts to be more hit and hope to save bogey.
