HOT TAKE Hole In One Ball Should Continue to be Played

I believe I have most of my benchmark under par balls - and then chilled on it from there unless it was a unique round somewhere.

The hole outs are no brainers to me, from anything more than probably 50 yards.

I've never made a HOI. So my first one I would for sure retire it. After that it would probably mean less. But I'd still probably retire it since it would still be a rare occurrence.

My home course is 75 rated. So I don't break par a ton. Last year was my highest ever with 12-13 rounds. If I do that every year I'd stop retiring them. But most years it's less

Absolutely not. I want that thing saved. I am going to be lucky to have one. I want that thing on the wall.

No, put it in the bag, put it on display, never play it again.

Whatever the heck a HOI ball is? Throw it in a pond.

Save the ball! I actually just put them in a display case today.

I should have made a poll. Options:

1- You should you keep your HIO ball
2- Templeton click here
All I know is if I play with him and he does this I am tackling him and keeping the ball.

If it ever happens to me I'm sure I will lose it before the next tee shot.
this is the greatest thing ever hahahhahaahaha

I’d probably keep the first one, get it mounted on a plaque or something to hang on the wall.

After the first one I don’t see a reason to keep one, I don’t really collect stuff.

HIO makes sense, but I dont know if id retire every hole out. Then again, never had one so 🤷‍♂️
you'll know it eventually.

I believe pretty strongly that those moments get imprinted on that ball, and it needs to become a part of your world after that. There's a special feeling/connection there.

you know it to be true
that's why it's so damn funny hahahaha

If we're together and it happens, I might not even let you get it out of the hole lmao

I don't have one either. Sad days.

Well, I've read it all..

What's your perspective? Family heirloom? Instantly on a shelf?

....or straight back into play?
True story I forgot to stash the HIO ball and blasted my longest drive of the day on the next hole. Promptly took it out of play when I realized it

I holed out on the 18th of a round and kept that ball. It's up on my shelf.

A HIO ball would be kept and signed.
+1

Ball would be immediately retired

Its getting preserved in amber for scientists 10,000 years from now to unearth and wonder why this white spherical object was encased in nuclear war proof container and the words "Finally, I don't suck".

As @Wildcat mentioned in the other thread, it would be saved and a shrine at the front door for everyone to acknowledge always

I want those good vibes on the next tee.. plus. I will be honest. I don’t have a shelf and will probably never have a shelf. So back into play.
If or when you get one keep the ball. We will start a go fund me to get you a shelf.

I kept mine in isolation - HIO and albatross (par 4)

I got my first and only hole in one last year, that ball went right in the bag, and is now displayed on a HIO plaque in my home office, right next to a few motocross trophies. The only other ball I've kept is the one that hit the bottom of the cup on the 18th at Pebble Beach, although that one hasn't made it into a display like I'd planned.

No clue what I did with mine. Assuming I kept playing them.

HIO ball is definitely getting pocketed and saved for display. After my first 2 eagles in my first year of playing I figured they were too common. I save those too. All one of em. If I hole out that’s getting saved too.

Nope not getting played ever again!!!

I kept the scorecard and the ball. Someday they will turn up 🤣

Never had the chance to make that decision but I'm guessing I'd be putting that ball in a safe pocket in my bag with the scorecard to follow
