looking good Jim

These look like they match up pretty close to the Apex 19
Hope they work out for you.

These are the P version and I was on the fence about getting the V which have the same lofts but a bit smaller and a solid cavity back.

Having played the TW 727 P a few years ago these were interesting to me and coming off the Miura TC 201 I just decided to try a bit more help in launch and distance.

Looking down they are plenty small and not a lot of offset, I hit one ball with the 7 iron across the street and holy launch it took off nice and high. I hit a few balls yesterday with the MP20 HMB and this one was higher and had to longer. These have the Nippon Modus 105 in reg and stock length so not the ideal shaft for me, but going to give them a run while I wait for the Modus 120 S and grips, etc. to get here.

Ha ha they will for a while anyway...to me they look about like the size of the APEX 19 pro but it has been a while since I had those.

The modus 105 is an awesome shaft. I hit it an X and loved every bit of it. Not much offset In those for their size! Very nice!

Going to give them a run tomorrow and might be playing with Thechosen1 and MWard on Friday so I will get a good test with the 105 reg, I expect them to be a bit loose and plan to put the 120 stiff in them next week. We will see...

Pretty good 1st round, very, very windy and the wind just ate the ball up. Very high ball flight with the 105 Regular shafts and I did see some of the expected distance with the stronger lofts and held every green I hit. Since they are 1/2" shorter than what i have been playing forever I put more knee flex in the setup and that may have helped the higher launch. I tend to be very upright and well just stiff so mostly an arm / shoulder swing which was not possible with the shorter length which might be a good thing to work on moving forward.

Overall nice feeling clubs and the turf interaction (where there was turf) was very good. I played the local goat track par 70 @ 6,100 yds and put up a 43 /40 so not a bad start. Grips just got here and should make a shaft decision today either the Modus 120 S or recoil 110 F5 then have the fun of rebuilding them next week.

Recoil 110 F5 4-PW + 2 110 F5 wedge shafts ordered, going to SSx1 them into the 5-AW and straight in to the 52* + 58*

Those look solid.

Did Honma change where they do their forgings at? Iirc that was a hangup for you a while back on some of their other releases?

Ive slept a lot since then. Haha

I honestly don't know, the 727 P were from Japan then when I looked at the 737 & 747 they were made in China which bothered me for some reason. These they claim to be made in Japan but they do not have the "made in Sakata" etching on the hosel so who knows. If I understand correctly they have a forging operation in Taiwan and then assemble in Japan.

But I really don't know, as good as these feel even with the regular shafts (just ballon quite a bit) even if they are made in China or Taiwan or Japan it just does not matter. I must be growing up or losing my mind....

Hit the 11 from 127 and hit the flag stick today so it's nice to have some pop again. It's going to be fun to see how the recoils do in these.

Now the TR20 440 Driver has caught my eye, if I can find one cheaper than list it may be something worth trying. They have a stock 60 &70 X shaft available. It would be fun the demo one but unless PGA SS opens back up and they stock them no place to hit them.
