Its not a real graphic : )Interestingly, all of the other hotels when running that search are anywhere from $200-$800 for that week. Even this property is in the mid $150-$160 range. I'd think if it was a "gouging" situation we'd see it in a lot of other places as well.
I ran the search on my end via Google. Its not a real graphic : )
Exactly. Its to get those fists raised to the sky and scream about capitalism, all the while not realizing that its not accurate.I ran the search on my end via Google.
I don't think I'm following you. Searching hotels in Augusta that weekend shows that pricing in the OP is correct (well it's a hair cheaper, but still almost $3k per night). That whole week at that property is crazily priced vs everywhere else. I'm almost leaning towards "someone put a decimal in the wrong place in the pricing for that week in the database" but I agree on the aspect of it not being gouging.Exactly. No you had me right. The price is right for that hotel because its done so by occupancy. Generally speaking, they are probably nearly completely full, with a single room remaining that is being held for Diamond Members with guarantee of availability so they dont have to walk them. So its throw something out there that is outrageous so if you do have to walk a Diamond, its worth it. ALl the while there is plenty of availability with "reasonable" Masters pricing which is why this is a non story.I don't think I'm following you. What your describing is price gouging, no? There need be no moral judgment to call something a gouge.Read my next post. Its a shock value graphic.
This is what hotels do with limited availability. its why you see two dozen other hotels a third of the cost. Limited availability means having to walk a person that has guarantee due to status.
I understand that doesnt fit the anti capitalism takes in this thread, but its literally hotel life across the board.
Then you go to the pro shop...… $$$$Once inside the egg salad sandwich is still just. $1.50, so it all kinda balances out.
I have always looked at it like this: If the product is a necessity, and a company is preying on a lack of supply, that's price gouging. If the product is not a necessity (food, water, gas, medicine, etc.), gouging isn't on the table. What your describing is price gouging, no? There need be no moral judgment to call something a gouge.
I don't see it as gouging. Just market forces in play. Just like tee times In Phoenix or Miami etc. for January versus July.
Yea, and with good timing you could save the hotel cost by parachuting directly into the grounds. Be sure to hit a fairway on the landing. So we could , actually fly to USA @ cheaper rate , tan stay there for night ?
I would potentially land in hazard … take stoke and distance penalty and end up back on the teeYea, and with good timing you could save the hotel cost by parachuting directly into the grounds. Be sure to hit a fairway on the landing.
