Interesting. We use the microwave. How do you use the smoker?Use the recipe from the box, but on the smoker instead of the oven.
I stir the chex mix and seasonings together in a large bowl, then put it on a large baking sheet in as close to a single layer as possible. Typically use the electric to save time and I set it to 250F. Cook them for 45 minutes, giving them a stir every 15 minutes to ensure even browning. Usually use a light wood like cherry or mesquite and try not to oversmoke them. Just adds a little smoky flavor for some extra pizzazz. Even if I'm too lazy to roll out the smoker, I'll do the same thing in the oven for 45 minutes. The added crispness from toasting them makes a world of difference.Interesting. We use the microwave. You do it right! I buy it in the bag if I do Chex mix.
Same for us, my daughter's favorite!Extra rye chips.
We add some mixed nuts, peanuts, etc.
You're in south Georgia, everything you eat has to have pecans in it by law. However my wife makes it. She definitely adds pretzels, pecans and rye chips to the cereal mix. It is always magical however she prepares it.
