I see a lot of forum posts and personal int with folks saying they’re out on a driver bc of gloss vs matte, turbulators in the case of ping, or even crown design.

Personally performance is the single driving factor and aesthetics take a wayyy back seat in my determination. How important is how a driver looks to you?

As long as it’s not burnt orange.

While I prefer a matte finish on the crown, it's not a deal breaker.
As long as the driver works and performs for me..................it's in the bag.

It definitely has an impact and so many companies are making really good drives that I find no reason to really settle.

It's not necessarily the most important aspect, but if the looks aren't there for me, the driver is out of the discussion no matter how it performs.

There’s not really much that would keep me away if it was clearly performing the best for me. I need all the help I can get. Turbulators don’t bother me, color doesn’t bother me, gloss/matte doesn’t bother me. I don’t love it a head sits too open/closed to my eye, but again, I’ll get used to it if I’m hitting the crap out of it

I care little to none about the aesthetics of a driver- pink? green? orange? yellow? no problems at all- if it helps me play my best golf then sign me up.

You would.

From certain OEMs it can look awful and I will try it. From other OEMs it needs to look perfect to try it. A flaw of mine I’m completely aware of and working on

I want to say they're a LITTLE important, especially the crown and shape of the head, but overall I've played more than my share of drivers over the years and ones that have performed well became beautiful in my eyes pretty quickly.

Aesthetically I have to be drawn to a driver otherwise the performance aspects will never jive with me. Looking down at a driver the crown is all I see and all that matters aesthetically.

I mean a good looking driver behind the ball inspires confidence. Will it make or break a decision probably not, wil it give an edge when the numbers are close absolutely

1. or 1A. Then it is performance.

Performance should be the first criteria for a club to meet. I cannot imagine choosing I club I actively hit worse than another just because I preferred the look. When all things are equal, play what suits your eye the best. I believe you have to like looking at what you're playing. I think it can play a subconscious role in overall success with a club. If you like how it looks and it inspires confidence, you'll hit it well more often.

Crown matters more than the sole, but performance is king

When I see gloss my brain shuts down 🤷‍♂️

No Gloss Please

and Black, Gray, Navy Blue are good.

Doesn't matter to me at all. Turbulators don't bother me. The color of the Q35 doesn't bother me. Some of my first woods I owned were various colors of the Cobra BioCell.

If it performs for me to the best of my abilities is all I care about.

Obviously there are some drivers I prefer the look of but ultimately I’m gonna play what I think performs the best regardless of looks.

Would aethetics stop me from trying a driver? Probably not.

Would it weigh on the decision to purchase or not? Probably.

This 💯
If it works good it will look good. Confidence is EVERYTHING in this game.

I’m super picky about my clubs 😅. But I’m into design generally and feel attached to things through that, as well as tactile feel. For the most part lots of clubs are close enough in performance to not meaningfully impact my scores over 18 holes, so I have the most fun when I love how a club looks and feels. Would absolutely pass on the absolute best performing clubs/shafts/whatever equipment if I didn’t like the shape/colors/whatever design aspects.
