I’m probably not getting close to parallel so instructors would say it’s too short but it works for me (usually)

I don’t know that anyone it reallly arguing he’s too short. I do know that in my case what I was doing was too short for me. On the other hand I couldn’t go all the way to John Daly either. I’m flexible enough, but probably not coordinated enough to sequence something like that up.
Right. I'm just saying "too long" or "too short" are relative to a lot of things. Relation to shaft parallel isn't really one of them.

I struggled a long time with this huge backswing. I always felt like I was taking a normal or even less then full swing but video proved otherwise. Through much work and practice and lessons, it has improved dramatically. I would say right now it’s closer to just right then either of the other options.

Past parallel. Do my best to impress John Daly.
Are you typing that with a cigar in your mouth, and wearing a snazzy pair of pants ?

I went too long, it is definitely just below or on parallel.

My coach said it wasn't impacting my contact, so whilst it might be too long, it might also have been just right. Of course he could have meant it wasn't the next thing for him to work on and that there is worse to deal with o_O

Mine's too long. I continue lifting the arms after the body stops turning and get the club way past parallel. Fixing it is a work in progress.

Of course.

*Takes a shot of jack as I post this*

It’s short but works for me, for the most part

Have worked hard with my coach the last 7 months to shorten it drastically. It is now in a good place and looks like a "full swing" but feels short to me. I have to feel like I stop 3/4 to get it there. If I don't pay attention it will go a little long, though.

I think it's a decent backswing... I've made a concerted effort to lengthen it over the last year or so (and not just longer but WIDER). I'm finding it results in a more balanced and far smoother swing with straighter ball flight and better distance especially off the tee.

I get to the feel of lead arm parallel and then transition to the downswing and that usually works out quite well for ball striking. I did overswing for quite some time and can fall back into it though so it's a swing thought I go back to often.

Working on getting it shorter. Also helps keep the club from wrapping around in in front of my head :ROFLMAO:

My backswing is perfectly average thank you very much.

Oh man, I just played last night and had no swing. I'm not sure I could rate myself right now LOL

With driver and I am long. When I see the club out of my lead eye I start my hips. I've tried to change it and it gets more erratic or I lose a lot of distance. I play a lot of punch shots with irons so I don't really know if its long or short.

I get too long. I am not coordinated/flexible enough to get to paraellel let alone past it, but keep trying to go past parallel. When I get short of parallel and let my legs lead... chef's kiss.

When I get too long and let the shoulder lead... hook city baby.

I’ve always been on the side of slightly too long but I’ve learned to embrace it

I use to be able to see my shaft in my backswing, now I don't think I take a full turn anymore. So I voted too short

Mine is too short and quick at times. I strive to make it longer so it will give me time to get my lower body going more.

I voted just right because it works. I feel like I’m making a full turn. But in reality I look like John Rahm. That’s as far as it goes.

I voted just right. I strive for what feels like a 3/4 backswings which actually translates to just short of parallel in real not feel. A more compact feeling backswing keeps my timing better. It’s when downswing starts is when I can get in trouble.

Too long.

It's currently too long for my rapidly fading wrist mobility.

Awful, terribly long with arms breaking down with driver and mini-driver. I call it a full-swing yip, because I can't stop doing it.

And, it's only an issue on course. At the range or hitting into the net, the backswing is much shorter. On course, subconsciously, Mr. Hyde takes over.

I don't play FW's as I go from mini driver to one-length hybrids, then standard length 6-iron. I have zero issue shortening my swing with all other clubs. But, with driver especially, it's been impossible for me.
