How Many Headcovers are Allowed in the Bag?

I recently read that there is a number (it was not said) of allowable headcovers in the bag before someone becomes bad at life.
My question is, what is that number?

And if said golfer has a 14 way bag, does the number of covers allowed go up because they are already better?
 
4 is my max.

Driver, fw/hybrid, and putter
 
Does a ball retriever also change the math?
 
Understanding there's a variety of golfers, what ever number allows you to enjoy the game is the right number. I have a number that I would play currently, but that doesn't mean it's right for others.
 
4 at the most. Driver, Super Hybrid, 4H, Putter
 
1 cover per wood and a putter cover, regardless of bag-top configuration. More is nonsense!
 
14 way user here (Callaway Fairway 14 is a seriously good bag) and I would seriously game up to 4 at the top of the bag.

I think the stats backup that 3-4 hybrid is more accurate for most of us than irons and around the 5 is where the irons become a little more accurate.
 
I currently have 5 (D, 2x FW, Hy/Ui, putter) assuming it’s a normal day and I’m only carrying 1 putter.
 
I am going to say 4-5. D, FW, FW, putter for me. I added a 5th as some play extra FW or hybrids.
 
Because I use either a 4 or 5 way bag the 6 headcovers in my bag upgrades me from bad to merely “questionable” at life.

And to make it work, i just bought the biggest 14 way cart bag i could find that didn’t have the hideous “goiter” pocket at the top.

It just works for me. And to make it even better, my wife surprised me with new covers from Winston (who i knew nothing about)

I think the number is 7.. With Hybrids out there and seeing that people like Fred Couples currently has a 7 iron as the longest iron in their bag. I will allow up to 50% of your clubs to have headcovers before you get a c'mon man from me..

That is mostly jest and if you have all headcovers on all your clubs, so be it.. As long as you are playing a full back of hybrids and do not have iron covers. lol
 
I have 5 (Driver, 3W, 2 Hybrids and the putter)
 
As many as it takes for you to play good golf! There is no number play what you want!
 
I know most have 2 by default, the driver and putter, but depending on the number of fairways and hybrids feels like 6 sounds about like a max.
