How Many Headcovers are Allowed in the Bag?

I have a cover for every club in my bag. Driver, 3-wood, hybrid, hybrid irons, wedges, putter.. So, my hybrid irons would end up looking like crap if I didn't cover them, with the nice paint and all. I cover my CBX2 wedges so the micro- grooves don't get jacked up, and of course the putter. I also have a ball retriever in the bag, and it too has a cover, that was left over when I bought the set for my hybrid irons. I did not order a 3-hybrid iron, so that cover fit great on the ball retriever. The covers for the hi's are a stretchy material, and go on very easily. Once I take the driver cover off for a round, it stays off. If I use my 3-wood, I will put that cover back on, so it doesn't bang against the driver, same for the lone hybrid. Putter cover comes off for the round too, as my bag has a putter tube on the side..

14 way bag and 6 covers. D, 3w, 5w, 7w, 9w, putter. If I ever add in a hybrid then it'll have a cover too. Am I going to be judged? 🤷‍♂️ Judge away. I suck at golf but I have fun playing.

4 max. Putter, Driver and two woods or hybrids. If it's a hybrid that looks like an iron then no. 14 way people are awesome and special in all the right ways. but the 4 cover rule still applies.

14 seems fair.... FWIW, I have 5 in my bag right now, driver, 3W, 3h, 5h, putter...

Freddy Couples currently playing with 6. I have 4 but two hybrids I don't use covers for.

If you put a head cover on one you are definitely bad at life.
It's strategic - it hides the fact that it's a ball retriever. It also makes the Rules Goons at your club go mad when they think they count 15 clubs in your bag and run to the Committee to tell on you. :ROFLMAO:

Do you carry multiple putters routinely? You know they talk to each other if they are in the same bag.
Not routinely. But when I get a new one there's usually two in the bag for a round. And... I brought 3 to Hidden Creek and had at least 2 in the bag each round.

I watched the Challenge Tour (the DPWT's KFT) final and 20 golfers received DPWT cards for next season. One guy was a just turned 20 year old named Angel Ayora. I think he's going to make some noise. What I found interesting is he carries both a 7-wood and a 9-wood.

Does he have 3w, 5w, 7w, 9w? Or 3w, 7w, 9w...I've seen more go that route recently because some of the newer fairways are hot as hell and they can launch them high to land soft into the greens they play. I could have potentially went 7w instead of 5w in the darkspeeds because of how far they go, but just cut down the 5w I got because I don't need the extra height.

That I don't know. I know he had a 16.5 degree HL 3-wood at one time, but don't know if that's still in his bag. It was followed by a 3-iron on down. One of the announcers said he switched to the 7 and 9-woods because the rough is longer on the DPWT.

Who are the head cover police that will site you for having more than the “allowed“ number of head covers?

I have 6 and don't use one on my putter

Back to only 5. Srixon ZX5 6 iron kicked the G430 30* hybrid to the curb like it was a bag of dirty diapers.

As many as the golfer feels he or she can manage.

I now have 6, including the putter, but may be headed to 7 as I'm eyeing a 9-wood!

14 ;)

I’ve got 5 right now, sometimes 6 if I forget to take my speed trainer out before a round. Hoping for a permanent 6 this spring if Titleist with a GT hybrid in the 28* range that I can stand to look at.

The more hatred people show for headcovers, iron covers, chippers, 14 ways, wacky clubs the more I want to use them.

I suppose that largely depends upon how many woods and hybrids you have. I mean, someone could have 14 headcovers if they want and it wouldnt matter much to me.

Headcovers have gotten ridiculously expensive. People spend upwards of $150 per on aftermarket headcovers with nothing at all to protect them. That‘s why I’m starting a new headcover headcover company. Protect your investments!

I‘m calling it CashGrab. Be on the lookout for it soon.

But I guess what I’m really saying is we are going to need to seriously raise the max number here.
