my first post! besides pw, i play a 52 and 56, making 3. i don't see the need for a 60. even with the 52, i can open that sucker up to pop it up over a greenside bunker (would use a 56, but just sayin'). leaves more room in the bag for driving iron, even a left-handed emergency wedge for those emergency situations (although you can flip over a wedge and hit it off the toe if you really need to). but my guess is most people would go with some kind of hybrid to replace it with.

Welcome! Solid first post. Don’t be a stranger

Thanks to everyone for voting and posting in this thread. We've had other "how many wedge" threads, but the poll on this one sums it up nicely!

PW, 50* set AW, 56* SW, 60* LW

I would definitely get a 64* if we could legally carry 15 clubs.

I play PW, AW, 54* and 60*.

Pw, 50, 56, 60

Four MD4 wedges;

46* bent to 45*

Just a PW and a SW that came with the set. Right now I have only 10 clubs including the putter. I'm having enough trouble just figuring out when to use the clubs I have.

56 only....and from 130 to 100...the PW. Using few wedges allows for consistency in the long run. Didn't Hogan call the PW the "Equalizer" or "E" because he believed it was best to use one club for all short shots?

So how do you reach 14 clubs? A bunch of woods/hybrids/driving irons?

I carry 4 wedges because I have spare capacity. Although I rarely hit my 54 because I don’t hit it as well for some reason. Maybe because I rarely swing it?

Four for me:

45°
50°
56°
60°

I messed up when I voted. Forgot to include my PW, so I actually play with 3 though that may change this season as I might add a wedge and drop a hybrid.

4 in both sets.
46* PW, 50, 55, 60.
45.5* PW, 49.5* UW, 54, 58.

That is an interesting comment, a thoroughly modern setup in 1986. I played all of my junior golf in the late 80's + early 90's, and I think only 1, maybe 2 at most on our golf team carried a LW, most of us played just two wedges PW + SW. I don't recall AW (50ish) even being a thing in those times!

In 1986 for me it was 47, 51, 56, and 60. I was an early adopter of carrying a lob wedge. Nobody sold a 51 back then so I bent a 52 to get the gap I wanted.

5: Pw, gw, 54 58 64
