How Much Would it Speed Up Play?

I think this, combined with ready golf....................it would speed up the pace of play considerably.

That's why a walking 4-some can keep up with a riding 4-some, the walkers can head straight to their ball and get ready. While the riders have to go to 2 different balls and wait.

The amount of times I see two carts drive to each ball separately four separate times instead of either dropping someone off, or at the very least, going to a ball that belongs to someone in the cart (so one cart at one ball, the other cart at another), drives me crazy. If I saw four different carts at one ball, that would be enough to make me walk off the course.

I rarely see both carts stop at one ball. Most of the time the carts separate and go to the closest of the balls for the person in their cart. Then the laziness ensues. Unless the balls are really close together I hardly ever see two carts stay together that much.

Depends on who's using it. Slow golfers are gonna be slow no matter what. Faster golfers on an open course could shred it in single man carts though!

Should increase it a ton. Problem is there are too many that go to the next guy up and watch him hit instead of staying out of the way and heading towards your next shot.

You're so lucky

I really like the idea of these, but worry a lot of folks would just ride in packs. Could really help pace if used right though.

the skeptic in my says people would just park next to each other and wait.

I honestly don't think that would be a problem It wasn't during Covid.

I think the most annoying thing would be needing to yell at the donk who parked his cart between your ball and the hole who was oblivious about you needing to hit your shot.

Used correctly, it could speed up a round by at least 30 min.

I can only imagine that some of the people in my game would be unaffected because the conversations they couldn't have in the cart would take place on the tee box before they hit. Or they'd be driving next to each other at creeping pace to finish off that story about the time they found a handful of extra range ball tokens.

I am not sure comparing how it was during covid is a fair assessment. People were trying to stay away from each other then. Could be right, but with what i see around here, i do still think it would be an issue.

There were plenty of people that were trying to prove that you could be next to each other as well. :ROFLMAO:

Crazy times.

No change to pace of play, instead of 2 carts going to each ball it will be 4 (slow groups will always be slow)

Private clubs probably 15-20. Public course not much if any. Still have those following each other and no presence of pace etiquette as usual. Even when it was a single to cart a few years ago it wasn't any faster where I played.

Would really enjoy playing a course that had these though.

fair point.

Almost none in reality. I'm sure people would just drive 4 carts to the place where they currently drive 2 carts and wait.

I wish I wasn't jaded in this respect.
I agree with you completely. As much as I would love it not to be the case. These single rider carts are cool. But all I see it public play with vacationers mixed in. They are the worst at being ready at their golf ball.

This was my instant thought. I think guys would still drive to each others ball so they can keep chatting, and then once the group ahead of them is done, go over to their ball.

If anything, I feel like it might create more wear and tear on the course with twice as many carts out there.

I'm going with 12 minutes.

Which may not sound like much, but I feel like it would be. Percentage miight be better. I think about 5%.

And I'll take that every time.

If used correctly this would be a game changer.

More than likely, everyone would drive to the first ball and wait, then the second ball and wait, and so on for a very nice 3:45 round
all facts except it would be 4:30 round.

Very little II’d bet.

Much faster
As quick as four push cart mafia folks (who in my opinion are fastest golfers) , but only faster.

I'd love to see single rider carts on every golf course. But ... this will still not help with ready golf.

Pretty good until the back 9 when that guy in your squad, who is slightly inebriated, rolls one of those narrow carts over during the post drive drag race.

I think it would speed up play considerably. I am guessing 30 minutes plus, depending on course, if everyone was using them
