Indoor Simulator Build with Skytrak/Gc2

Dude, that's pretty much amazing. Great use for a living room!! You just need to install a remote control retractable recliner into the wall!!!
Haha that would be great, it would solve a few problems. Gonna order new furniture once she's all built and I know how much room I have.

You inspired me. On the wall behind my fiberbuilt mat was where I am going to build a rack for my clubs. But also don't have room for a couch or chair. So from your idea, I may mount a few wall mount foldable chairs. Or get vintage ones from a stadium or something. Thanks.
I will have bar stools along the railing above the wall as well. Hmmm man can't wait.

Awesome set up!! Looking forward to following along with your build

Very cool man. I can't wait to get my shop built with a hitting room/pool room with a bar of course!

I love these threads! I have a SkyTrak, but I’m in the infant stages of a build. I’m limited to iron play due to ceiling height. Thanks for posting photos. I love seeing other golfer’s setups...

Great setup, looks really good.

You play jnpg or TGC? I have jnpg, but hope TGC 2019 is worth getting as well.
I love my setup. Great for watching sports & movies and I’ve been happy with the Skytrak, especially for the price!

I only have WGT currently. None of the others work on a Mac/IPad and I’ve been procrastinating buying a new non Mac laptop just for the sake of playing the other software. WGT’s driving range, challenge mode and bag mapping works well but the off center camera angle while playing courses drives me nuts. You also can’t play courses in multiplayer which is dumb. The more I think about it, I need to go buy a windows laptop...

I'm building the frame for the enclosure out of wood as it is cheap. I may go to EMT pipe in the future if this doesn't work out. I put pipe insulation on the edge of the 2x4 that is the only place that may get hit, and screwed and glued it on with PL300 (won't eat the Styrofoam)

I've only put in the top eye lags and hung the screen with bungees to see how it looks. The screen is a 13x8 Carl's Premium. Wow it looks tough and the knit is so tight. It'll have a good image I think.
First attempt at this so there may be changes yet.
We measured the image diagonally... I now have a 165" TV as well as the sim. Lol.
I'll be putting moving blankets hanging 2"from wall and carpet hanging from the boards covering the eye lags and the gap(you won't see the carpet) hopefully it'll work.

This looks so awesome. Is the screen especially made for hitting into?

Yes. Got it from Carl's place online. It's the premium one, so image has less light bleed through than cheaper models. And hopefully lasts a long time.
Was thinking of ordering from the factory off the roll with a bunch of other guys on another forum, but it seemed shipping to Canada was a real pain, and the one I bought came finished with holes for bungees on the edge. Was just easier for my first build.

Nice build! I really need to start a thread of the one I did with my dad. Played indoor yesterday, nothing beats having your own indoor sim!

Hopefully will find out soon, hitting into the net as I was doing just isn't the same at all. And if anyone wants the net, send me a pm as I will pay it forward, if you pay shipping.

really cool. Will be a nice way to keep the swing during winter. Plus watch the Super Bowl in life size!

Awesome build up and great pics showing the progress. :clapp:

Didn't really need this as they will be covered, but just for my peace of mind I hung a white ground cloth off of a 2x4, so it'll hang 1.5" from wall. And cut carpet runner at 5" and screwed to 2x4 that screen is hanging from so just in case a ball gets through it'll hit the ground cloth or carpet instead of the 4"space and balls should drop behind the screen rather than embed into my wall. Probably didn't need this, but can't be too careful I guess.
I'll work on the bungees on the sides tomorrow.
Getting close... I'm getting excited!

Coming along nicely.

I'm really enjoying these progress posts, and get more and more jealous each time. Thank you again for keeping us all update along the way!!

This is awesome! Don’t have the money or the room but if I did I’d aim for the type of setup you have. What was the most challenging or unexpected part of putting the sim together?

I've been planning this for a few years, so I had it sort of all worked out. I would say making it work with the slanted roof, and designing the enclosure (which isn't up yet so hopefully it works, lol). It's unlike any others I've seen online. So hopefully...

I'm guessing you're not married?

Great job. SkyTrak is on my short list.
