I believe that the UA shorts that make up 80% of my wardrobe are 9" which are perfect for my stature. Just to the top of the knee and cover most of the thigh when I sit down.

So what’s acceptable here? Let’s focus more on the look than the length as the length will look different on different height people (Ex: 7” would look like the 5” on me). I don’t think the look is out of bounds on any of these folks.

With the recent trend towards shorter, most private golf clubs have gotten specific with their dress code for shorts length. Most that I’ve played don’t allow anything shorter than 4” or 5” above the knee and I’ve seen this enforced more than once in the last year. Luckily the 5-6” inseam thing hasn’t caught on at my club. I already see way too much skin on pale overweight bodies with my 100+ days at the beach each winter.

I'm with @Canadan on his picture description. I'm a grasshopper man, long ass legs with alot of femur. Anything shorter than 9" is a hard no-go for me.10" is ideal. Problem is they're getting hard to find now days. Thanks alot you <9" inseam guys!
