Irons you think were / are underrated

Wilson CBs

Cobra S3 irons. I hit some amazing shots with those and still miss them sometimes.

The first irons I ever bought and still my favorite. Nicklaus Airmax Low Profile irons. They were crazy looking but I hit them super high and really far.

The OG 2019 version of PXG 0211.
Everybody figured PXG has just pushed out some low-end cheap junk. Still the most accurate irons I've gamed.

This year, my favorite irons have been Elyte and Cobra King Tec X. I wouldn’t call Elyte underrated, but I don’t think enough people have hit the Cobras and think they are underrated.

In the general golf world, it’s the Srixon ZX line for me. They’re just so good
I agree. Had never even thought about Srixon inron until talking to a scratch buddy who had them and he said they're the best irons he ever hit.

Got fit and ordered the ZX5s in 2022 and still very happy with them. 3 buddies have also bought the ZX5 variations

Srixon all the things...played the Z565 and now ZX5 MkII. Honorable mention to the Adams IDEA Black CB3.

The Gen 1 ZX7 and ZX5 mkII are on my Mount Rushmore of clubs

Wilson PI5. I bought a set that I still own and they’re pretty forgiving for a players iron.

Wilson Staff FG Tour V2.

Probably the original nike procombos, As this was likely the first or one of the first combo sets ever released and they felt amazing too.

I like my TaylorMade Burner 2.0 irons so much that I just acquired a 2nd set in phenomenal condition!

Srixon
Old school Hogan blades

When I got back into golf the first time around, I had some TM Rac Black wedges - I always thought they hit really nicely.

Have them and they’re still my gamer. Too consistent to consider replacing. And I’ve tried. They got zero love when they came out and even the PXG fitter didn’t have me try them at a fitting. I had to ask. And within 5 swings it was order time.

As someone who is not an internet golfer, I generally go with what a see in bags at golf courses and I actually see a considerable number of Srixon in bags with ZX4 and 5 being quite common. Add to that the various rankings of game improvement iron which post the ZX4s and I would say they’re not underrated. They seem to be rated fairly accurately. They just don’t seem to get the love other models get online and that I believe is brand bias. Just my opinion. Of course.

Most of what Adams put out in the early to mid 2010s. CMBs, Idea A12OS, Idea Pro, Tech V4, the list can go on.

It's a shame what happened to that company.
i started with cb3s and progressed to cmbs. both were very good irons but the cmb was ahead of its time in design, looked great, performed and felt great. not the most forgiving but i feel i could still play theem today and want for nothing

Wilson beat Nike by several years. Payne Stewart played with the Wilson staff progressive in the early 90’s.

I've always wanted to grab another set after getting rid of them. MP-30 is my "backup" just for fun set now but those CMBs will always be one of my favorite irons of all time.

All the old Adams forged irons- Pro Gold PVD, MB2 PVD, etc. Some of the best and most underrated as most associated Adams with just hybrids.

I think some of the Wilson releases over the last few years have been criminally underrated...maybe not on THP but in the general public

I played in an event and the Wilson rep was on the first tee showing off their product and no one even stopped to look, and they had a lot of good offerings I felt

I’m gonna say anything by PXG. It’s probably of their own doing somewhat, but whereas the clubs are as good as anything I’ve hit, the fitting process was way better than anything I’ve gone through before. Hit my lowest round yesterday using Gen 6’s, so I think more people should be at least adding them to their consider list.
