Is Wind a Deal Breaker for Golf?

I learned to golf in South Texas many years ago. My boss at the time told me, "If you learn to play golf here, anywhere else in the world will be easy."
He was right.
Wind, heat, courses well "below par". But I had a great time.
And he was right. We took a trip to Myrtle Beach in the off season, and were playing one of MB's great courses. Another player said, "Man, it's SO hot today."
It was 85 degrees and calm. We said, "Hey. It's at least 10 degrees less than we're used to and there's no wind. This is heaven."
We each scored the lowest we'd ever done that day.
It's all what you're used to.
