My Izzo Swami gps unit "died" last week - probably from sitting in the bag for a year without use. I charged it the night before the round, but during the round it just stopped, and the screen went blank.

I sent Izzo customer support an email explaining the above, and that it was definitely out of warranty, but asked if there was anything they could do. I got an email back the next day asking me to call. I spoke with a rep, and after a few questions he said he'd send me a new one - free of charge. It arrived today. Kudos to Izzo customer service.
 
I had a similar experience a few years ago with a unit I bought through a third party. They sent me a newer version of the same model, no questions asked
