JDM clubs. Have you tried them? Why or why not?

I have quite a few JDM clubs. I like them because they are unique and a conversation starter. I like having clubs others don't have, never heard about,or have never seen in person. I find I hit them just the same as any other non JDM club.

I'm a bit of a fan

You do know you're the main reason I went into jdm.... you and your damn xblades

Not sure what you are talking about :). I still remember the day I sent you a link to rakuten. I should have kept that pm and framed it for you.

I think a lot of the blades are beautiful but most of the other stuff is pretty poor looking.

Haven't tried one. Possibly never will. Mainly due to not knowing anything about them, and a lack of wide-spread availability here.

I've never tried them. Not sure why but it probly just is lack of availability. Would love to try them out just because of all the hype surrounding them.

I dont one know if they are better, but damn they are works of art. I currently play an all JDM bag.
Here are a few pics of some irons I've owned in the past. I bought most if not all as heads and built them myself. I find that's the only affordable way to do it.

out of all of these I miss my Stenson Legacy Blacks the most.

Who knew Scratch Golf and Tour Burner were JDM...

Those Epon af-702's look pretty interesting, I wouldn't mind taking a few swipes with those.

I really liked the epon af tours. My favorite ever was miura giken cb 1007 kj choi you grinds in black. Baby blades were awesome when swinging well. I think my srixon 945 blacks can be considered jdm and I love those. Longest ever in my bag

I had some old Yamaha eos 1/3/5 wood and loved them also played some hand me down yonex irons that my dad had. They were just sold in the pro shop and I didn't think anything of it. Solid clubs and that's where my fondness of graphite shafts began about well sometime in the 90's.

I played with a local guy who played Miura irons. Talked in the 60s, dressed in the 70's and shot in the 80s. Great looking clubs, I didn't ask to swing them

Played Epon AF-501 for 4 years, hell of a set and in fact still have them. For looks and feel they are hard to beat, but as far as overall performance then i do believe some of the newer equipment do offer some advantages.

I plan to go check out some of the clubs next time I am in Japan, hopefully next year. I'm very curious on them, but I think some of the allure is the forbidden fruit bit like JB said.

Add one thing, the 3 iron of those Epons was the most consistent 3 iron I have ever hit in my life. 210-215 baby fade, mid high and gave me plenty of opportunities on some par 5s

I have a JDM Odyssey putter on its way. That will be the only one I've ever tried.

Both my irons and driver and JDM . I love the looks and different materials they use which I hope to try more of soon

I've never tried them. I have no doubt they're good, but there are so many options in the US I don't feel the need to give them a go.

I tried the PXG 0311 irons at a fitting. They were real solid irons. However, they didn't outperform some of the irons I tried and the price tag took them out of the running. I was glad I got to hit them, there was no way I was passing up the opportunity during the fitting, haha.

Pxg don't qualify as jdm lol. I agree they are solid irons but nothing that wows you. A miura forging is so different in my opinion

I'm a JDM fan- some thanks to you Kang. I will buy them again in the future at some point. My current bag has JDM irons, FW's and Hybrid.

Have not tried them but would certainly love to.

I've hit a Miura Tournament Blade 3 iron once, and it was the best feeling thing ever. Loved it, but can't justify the price if the performance is the same.

Check your irons.
To see if they were made in Japan? I thought there were different versions. Made for US market and made for Japan market.
